In his 1905 paper, Einstein did not write E = mc^2 .

He wrote:

"If a body gives off the energy E in the form of radiation, its mass decreases by E / c^2

He started with energy (radiation/light) and derived mass as the consequence.

The equation was always m = E / c^2 in his own perception.

The inversion to E = mc^2 came later.From textbooks, from popularizers, from a material philosophy that needed matter to remain central.

**Embodied Knowledge vs. Institutional Knowledge** ⚖️

In today’s credential-driven world, the tension between lived experience and codified institutional knowledge has never been more relevant.

On one side: the fisherman in the river 🎣 — tacit knowledge, pattern recognition, and direct contact with reality. As Michael Polanyi noted, “We know more than we can tell.”

On the other: the expert at the podium 💼 — standardized, peer-reviewed, metrics-driven knowledge. Michel Foucault warned that knowledge often functions as a “regime of truth” shaped by power structures.

The real question is: Who gets to define truth? 🌊

True wisdom requires humility in translation 🙏
Belief is not knowledge.
Opinion is not knowledge.
Authority is not truth.

Lived reality still matters. Truth goes beyond credentials.
