Yet we're responding to AI by creating more content, faster.

What if we're automating the wrong thing?

AI is changing who gets shortlisted before your sales team knows.

Open ChatGPT and ask:

“Who should I hire for [what you do] in Malaysia?”

Are you in the answer?

Because if you're not, the instinct may be:

“We need more content.”

More posts.
More platforms.
More AI.
More campaigns.

But this is what I keep seeing when I audit businesses:

They're not doing too little marketing.
They're doing too much without enough intention.

Content gets created.

Leads come in.

Someone books a call.

And then the cracks appear.

The prospect wasn't properly pre-sold.

Sales has to explain everything from scratch.

The call ends.

And there's little strategic follow-up to move the buyer forward.

Then everyone wonders:

“Why isn't all this marketing translating into revenue?”

That's the part that frustrates me.

Because I've seen businesses spend so much time, money and energy creating content - only to measure success by views, likes and posting frequency.

More activity doesn't automatically create more revenue.

That's why I call it content engineering, not content creation.

Your buyer can ask AI who to hire before they ever visit your website.

SEO helps you get found.

AEO helps your answers get surfaced.

GEO helps AI understand and recommend you.

But there's another problem.

AI is making everyone faster and everyone is starting to sound the same.

That's why I don't believe your team needs another “how to prompt ChatGPT” workshop.

They need to learn how to make AI understand your business.

Your positioning.
Your expertise.
Your customers.
Your proof.
Your beliefs.
Your voice.

That's why I'm training teams to use Claude and ChatGPT as a second brain so AI can help scale their expertise without turning their brand into generic AI slop.

Because the goal isn't:

More content.

It's:

More intentional content → stronger positioning → better-qualified buyers
=
→ better conversion → more revenue.

Reason why we're running HRD Corp claimable 1-day implementation workshop on this.
Not to help businesses blindly chase the next AI trend.

But to help them build a marketing system that actually works for the business they want to grow.

And if you're a CMO or business leader, here's the test:

Ask ChatGPT:

“Who should I hire for [what you do] in Malaysia?”

Were you in the answer?

Is your business missing out on local Malaysian search traffic? 🇲🇾

Generic global strategies won't work when AI engines customize results specifically for the Malaysian market. If you aren't optimizing for localized intent and authority, local competitors are capturing your high-intent audience.

I spent some time studying Osome, an accounting platform and expert service for startups, founders and businesses. Here's 7 Things I’d Change to Increase Conversions
And honestly, there’s a lot to like.

Their SEO + AEO is very well played out.

Their landing page is packed with customer stories and proof.

They’ve also created content that clearly resonates - including a video with 11M views.

So if I were working with them, I wouldn’t start by saying:
“Let’s make more ads.”

I’d ask:
“Are we being specific enough?”

For an expert-based service, an ad like “Thinking about getting started?” can be too broad.

I’d go deeper into the ICP:
→ Foreign founders entering Singapore
→ SaaS / tech startups
→ E-commerce
→ Consultants & agencies
→ Overseas companies relocating

Different ICP = different pain point = different message.

And I’d also look at their 1,000+ reviews (4.3 stars!) as a vault of customer insights.

Why did people actually choose Osome?

📍 That can become the foundation for much more specific ads - based on real customer language, not guesswork.

This is the kind of thinking I’d bring into a marketing audit and then use it to further strengthen the brand and growth.

🎥 Watch the video, and I’ve also linked the whiteboard breakdown for anyone who wants to study the thinking/framework behind it.

Is churning out massive amounts of content still the key to winning at AI search? 📚 vs 🎯

AI engines don't just need more text—they need high-quality, authoritative data to learn and recommend your brand. Pumping out spammy AI content won't cut it anymore; quality and positioning win every time.

Looking at competitors' content isn't enough anymore. 🕵️‍♂️

AI search engines don't just compare keywords—they analyze context, data freshness, and authority. If you aren't optimizing your content for how AI evaluates your industry, you're leaving money on the table for competitors to take.

I audited several dental brands. The biggest difference wasn't their ad budget. Why some brands can concur the top, yet some - who uses same strategies, same chatbot can't? ⤵️

Big successful one like Dr Clear Aligners knows how to use meta ads + amazing follow up strategically.

You can see the stark differences here.

and even on Meta 's ads library. You can see how winner continue to win..

My best work always evolve around helping businesses fix the [before] and [after] of a sales conversation or appointment. And to be honest, even after running so many trainings, I still find having a great tool - that's easy to implement and stick

( meaning businesses actually stay disciplined to using it and merging it into their current system to help them win more sales = make more $$$)

helps with creating longer lasting results = transformation in revenue growth in their business 🎯

Why is your brand still invisible to AI? 🤖

Most businesses lose traffic because AI search looks for authority, not just basic keywords. If Google’s AI Overview isn't recommending you, you're missing out on high-value leads.

Had a catch-up with Curry Khoo from RakanSales recently - one of the most recognised GTM veterans in Malaysia’s tech and startup space.

I learned a lot.

But what stayed with me wasn’t just the GTM conversation.

It was watching how people in the industry actively seek him out for advice, introductions and help.

It reminded me of something I think many SME owners, marketing leaders and sales leaders underestimate:

**Networking is important. But being known for good work is even more powerful.**

You can build hundreds of connections.

But when your work is solid, your experience is real, and you consistently create results, something changes.

People remember you.
People refer you.
People look for you.
People talk about you .. even when you’re not in the room.

That’s the kind of reputation I want to build.

Interestingly, our conversation also reignited a part of me I had buried years ago — my fascination with startups, tech and building things.

For a long time, I chose stability. A more predictable career. A more “mature” business. Financial security and being able to provide for family.

But after almost four years of working for myself, I’m realising:

**Maybe entrepreneurship isn’t about choosing between stability and ambition.**

There are seasons.

Some seasons are for building in the trenches.
Some are for hustling.
Some are for balance.
Some are for showing up, being visible and letting people know what you can do.

Every day is still Day One.

And perhaps the goal isn’t just to know more people.

**It’s to do work worth being known for.**
