Commercial Flights Pay Scheme

Commercial flights are the scheduled flights that
depart from KUL. ( Can be seen on Air Asia booking page )

1.Basic Salary
FA RM 1000
SFA RM Vary***
Purser RM Vary***+ RM200 Purser Allowence

***Depends on years served.

2.Flight Pay ( Per Hour )

FA RM 26 ( RM12+BONUS RM14 If no MC )
SFA RM 34 ( RM16+BONUS RM18 If no MC )
Purser RM 34 ( RM16+BONUS RM18 If no MC )

How to qualify for Bonus?
Good attendance.
Zero misconducts in the month.
No late sign ONs ( more than twice )
60 Flying hours and above. ( for the month )

3.Sector Allowance

FA/SFA RM 20 per sector. Eg. KUL-MEL-KUL is 2xRM20= RM 40
Purser RM 50 per sector.

4.Commission - varies from RM300~700 per month

Basically, your salary consists of three parts which is your basic, flying per hour pay and overseas nightstop/layover allowance. Most airlines (eg. Singapore and Malaysian Airlines) pay the overseas allowance in your local currency and bank it into your account.You have to change to the foreign currency to whichever nightstop that you have.EK (Emirates) will pay you cash instead in the local currency of that particular country. So your monthly salary defers and it depends on how many hours you are flying in that month and which nightstops you have.Certain countries have a better allowance and some lesser. For example, if I can recall correctly, station such as Paris you are being paid about 90Euros per night. Anyway, your basic and flying pay per hour (tax free) are : -

USD1 = 3.67Dhs Basic Flying Pay

Grade CC.06 : ( Pursur ) - 6,000Dhs 99Dhs
Grade CC.05: ( Senior steward/stewardess ) - 5,770Dhs 92Dhs
Grade CC.04: ( first class ) - 4,620Dhs 72Dhs
Grade CC.03: ( business ) - 4,620Dhs 65.5Dhs
Grade CC.02 : ( economy ) - 4,220Dhs 57Dhs

When you join, you start off as a Grade2 operating in the economy class section. As you fly and gain more experience, you will be promoted to the list of grades above. Promotion is generally fast as Ek is getting plenty of new aircraft each month for the next few years. The fastest I know to promote from a Grade2 to Pursur is 5 years. I think to be a pursur or IFS in SIA,you need to fly 15 years or more. If you want to bring your career to a higher level, you can actually apply as a Senior Flight Pursur, Cabin Crew Instructor or a Cabin Crew manager.

You will be provided with free accommodation, utility bills and transport. For SFS and above, you have a studio apartment for yourself while generally for the normal crew it's two to three sharing per apartment. If you opt to stay outside company provided accommodation, you will be given an accommodation allowance.The last 2008 accommodation allowance are 72000Dhs PA for Pursur, 68000 Dhs for SFS and 42700Dhs for normal crew.

Benefit wise, you will enjoy the usual perks as an airline crew such as staff and family concessional travel, 30 days of annual leave , medical coverage and comprehensive Insurance Scheme.

Billing itself as Malaysia's first Islamic airline, Rayani Air took to the skies this week offering passengers halal food and no alcohol on board its maiden flight. Here are five things to note about the new airline.
1. It says it is sharia compliant
This means it follows Islamic law. Besides its halal menu, prayer calls are observed before a flight takes off.
Muslim female flight attendants must wear hijabs, while non-Muslim staff will be required to "dress decently", reports say.
The airline will not allow any pork or alcoholic beverages on board, though it is not clear if this applies to passengers' luggage or duty-free.
2. But it's not the only Islamic airline in the world
There are numerous airlines from Muslim countries which have sharia compliant menus and rules, including Royal Brunei, Saudi Arabian and Iran.

London-based Firnas Airways plans to launch flights to South Asia next year, also with an alcohol-free halal inflight menu, and use interest-free finance according to sharia, according to Bloomberg.
3. Its owners are said to not be Muslim
Indian media reports say the airline's founders, Ravi Alagendrran and his wife Karthiyani Govindan, are Hindus, though this could not be independently confirmed.
Mr Alagendrran told The Malay Mail that while they started the airline to tap into the growing Muslim travellers market, his airline should also appeal to other passengers.
"This is not a matter of segregation... Anyone wishing to travel in a modest and alcohol free environment will feel right at home," he told the newspaper.
Malaysia is a Muslim-majority country which practices a moderate form of Islam.

Another possible inspiration for the airline is the belief among some conservative Malaysian Muslims that the recent Malaysia Airlines disasters - the disappearance of MH 370 and the shooting down of MH17 - were linked to Allah's wrath, reported AP.
4. It's not to be confused with a certain Irish airline
While its name bears a striking resemblance to low-cost European carrier RyanAir, Rayani Air is said to be mash-up of the founders' first names - Ravi and Karthiyani.
5. It has big ambitions
