On 26 August 2026, Dr. Daniel Looi, Chief Scientific Officer of CytoHealth, was invited in his capacity as a subcommittee member appointed by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) for the Review of the Guidelines on Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Therapy (RMSC) to the Media Interactive (Press Conference) of the 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮 & 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼, co-located with International Medical Device Exhibition and Conference (IMDEC 2026), at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

During the session, Dr. Daniel shared perspectives on Malaysia’s regenerative medicine landscape and its ongoing development, contributing both scientific and industry insights to the wider conversation on strengthening the country’s governance framework for RMSC. He also highlighted the importance of the healthcare and industry sectors in establishing an evidence-based foundation for RMSC in Malaysia, where healthcare innovation can advance within a framework grounded in safety and responsible practice.

Rangka kerja Status BioNexus yang dipertingkatkan mampu mengukuhkan kedudukan Malaysia sebagai platform kepada syarikat bioteknologi yang sedang berkembang dengan meluaskan sokongan dan bertindak balas terhadap keperluan industri yang semakin berkembang.

Under the theme “Mission to Market: Malaysia to the World,” it was meaningful for CytoHealth to be awarded 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 at National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo 2026 on 27 August 2026.

The recognition was received by our Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Liyin Wong. More than a milestone, the recognition connects us to Malaysia’s growing bio-innovation ecosystem, in alignment with the objectives of the National Biotechnology Policy 2.0. It further strengthens our journey in regenerative medicine through technology development, bioprocessing advancement and scientific innovation.

Five years of translating science forward, CytoHealth's ambition remains clear: To elevate Malaysia’s biotechnology achievements onto the global stage and bring innovation from lab to real-life impact through evidence-based solutions.

A special thanks to Bioeconomy Corporation, for inviting us to the Certificate Presentation Ceremony and also for the continued support in empowering local biotechnology companies and strengthening Malaysia’s biotechnology industry. Today, our Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Liyin Wong, received the BioNexus Status Certificate from YB Datuk Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI), at the National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo (NICE 2026).

Also present was YBrs. Puan Norsham binti Abdul Latip, Deputy Secretary-General (Technology Development), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).

BioNexus Status recognises companies undertaking biotechnology activities in Malaysia, supporting the growth and competitiveness of the nation’s biotechnology industry.

For us, this recognition represents more than a moment on stage. It reflects the work and people behind our journey, and our ongoing dedication to translating regenerative science forward. A meaningful recognition for our team, and a reminder that there is still much more to build.

On 19 August, CytoHealth was honored to participate in the Industry & Translation Roundtable Forum, at the 𝗙𝗛𝗠𝗦 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, organized by the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, Taylor's University.

Moderated by Associate Prof. Dr. Mah Siau Hui from the School of Biosciences, Taylor’s University, the forum brought together experts across biotechnology, genomics, healthcare, and food innovation to exchange perspectives on bridging academia and industry, and transforming research discoveries into real-world applications.

During the session, Dr. Daniel Looi Qi Hao, Chief Scientific Officer of CytoHealth, shared a crucial industry viewpoint on translation should not only be considered after scientific discovery, but rather an integral part of the research mindset from the beginning.

One key takeaway from Dr. Daniel:

The forum further reinforced the importance of collaboration among academia and industry players, and the wider ecosystem, where partnership essential for navigating the translational challenges and creating meaningful impact that extend far beyond discoveries. This shared mission was central to the symposium’s focus on accelerating innovation together.🤝

𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 AMSC, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻! 💫

It has been encouraging to see how conversations around 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 have evolved over the years — moving from understanding the fundamentals to today’s deeper discussions on meaningful impact beyond the hype.

As part of this journey, we have been honored to share our industry perspectives on the importance of reproducibility and upstream bioprocessing alongside clinical outcomes, from introducing 𝟱𝗖 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 to 𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝘅𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 today.

This year, we are grateful to receive the Legacy Partner Award, presented by Dr. Tingsong Lim, President of the Malaysian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM) and Science Director of AMSC, in recognition of CytoHealth’s five years of participation and contribution at AMSC. This recognition is also a reminder of how far the industry has come, and how much more there is still to advance.

Our appreciation also extends to Mr. Gary Chai, Co-founder of Deltus and organizer of AMSC, and his team for delivering such remarkable events throughout the years, as well as to Dr Chin Shih Choon, who first brought us into this journey five years ago.
