Now I help working mums build a second income online without giving up their career or family time. 🌟 Helping Working Mums Build a Life They Don’t Need a Break From 🌟

Hi, I’m Cye Sum— a full-time working mum of two, born in Ulu Yam Baharu and now living in Kuala Lumpur. For over 20 years, I gave my all in the insurance industry. I thought I was doing the right thing — working hard to provide the

best for my family. But one day, my son said, “Mummy, I think you love your job more than us.”
That moment changed everything. I realised I didn’t want to miss any more milestones, school performances, or quiet dinners at home. I wanted to be there for my kids — not just as a provider, but as a present and joyful mum. That’s when I took a bold step and started my own digital business. Today, I mentor other working mums like me to start their own business, gain time freedom, and rewrite their formula for success — without giving up income or stability.

One day, our children won't need us the way they do today.

This thought crossed my mind recently while driving my children to their activities.

Right now, they still need lifts.

They still want to tell me about their day.
They still ask for my help.

But one day, they won't.

One day they'll have their own schedules, their own lives, and their own adventures.

As mums, we're often so busy managing the day-to-day that we forget these seasons won't last forever.

Maybe that's why I'm learning to appreciate ordinary moments more.

Because what feels ordinary today may become the moments I miss most tomorrow. ❤️

The older I get, the more I appreciate simple Sundays.

A family meal.

A good cup of coffee.

A quiet conversation.

Preparing for another week.

Nothing extraordinary.

Yet somehow these simple moments feel more valuable than ever.

For many years, I was focused on the next goal.

The next milestone.

The next achievement.

These days, I'm learning that happiness is often found in the moments we overlook.

The ordinary moments.

The everyday moments.

The moments spent with the people we love.

As this week comes to an end, I'm feeling grateful for all of it.

What's one thing you're grateful for today? ❤️

My Weekend Job? Mum Taxi Driver. 🚗

Monday to Friday, I work in the corporate world.

Weekends?
I'm a full-time chauffeur.

Sports training.
Swim meets.
Football matches.

Running from one place to another.

Sometimes it feels like I spend more time driving on weekends than I do commuting to work.

And if I'm honest, there are moments when I wish I had a little more time to rest.

But then I remind myself...
These busy weekends are actually a privilege.

Because one day they won't need me to drive them around.

One day the back-seat conversations, the rushed breakfasts, and the car rides to training will become memories.

So while the weekends can be exhausting, they're also filled with moments I know I'll miss someday.
And that's why I'm grateful for every minute of it. ❤️

At the same time, it's one of the reasons I'm working towards creating more flexibility in my life.

Not to stop being busy.
But to have more choices about how I spend my time with the people who matter most.

No one warned me about this part of being a working mum.

Not the long hours.
Not the exhaustion.

But the guilt of being with my children… while my mind was still at work.

For years, I told myself:
“I’m doing this for my family.”
And I truly believed that.

But one day, I realised something painful…

My children didn’t just need financial support from me.
They needed my presence too.

That was when I knew I needed to start making changes — slowly, intentionally, and one step at a time.

Still a work in progress…
But definitely more present today than I was before ❤️

If you’re a working mum trying to create a better balance too, just know you’re not alone.

“The hardest part isn’t going to work during school holidays…”

The hardest part is hearing:

“Mum, what are we doing today?”

And knowing your answer is:

“Mum has to work.”

As working mums, we do our best.

We work hard because we love our children.

But sometimes that doesn’t stop the guilt.

I still feel it too.

Especially during school holidays when I wish I had more time to slow down and be present with them.

That’s one reason I’m learning new skills and building something alongside my job.

Not because I want to stop working tomorrow.

But because I’m working towards having more choices in the future.

Because time with our children is something we can never get back.

If you’re a working mum feeling the same way this school holiday, just know you’re not alone. 💛

POV: When school holidays arrive... but you're still working.
School holidays are exciting for children.

For working mums?
Sometimes they come with a little guilt. 💛

You're trying to focus on work while your kids are asking:
"Mum, can we do something together today?"

And if I'm honest...
I still feel that guilt.
I love my job and I'm grateful for the career I've built.

But during school holidays, there's always a part of me that wishes I had more flexibility to spend time with my children.

Not because I want to stop working.
But because I know these school holiday memories won't last forever.

That's one of the reasons I'm building something alongside my full-time job.

Not to escape work.
But to create more options and flexibility for the future.

Because one day, our children probably won't remember how many emails we answered.

But they'll remember the time we spent with them.

To every working mum trying to balance work and family this school holiday...
I see you. ❤️

And if you've ever wished for a little more flexibility in your future, maybe you're not the only one.

Anyone else wondering where the last 4 days went? 😅

Between the public holidays, family time, errands and catching up on rest… June is suddenly here.

And tomorrow, it’s back to the usual routine.

If I’m honest, the first day back after a break is never my favourite.

The alarm feels earlier.
The traffic feels heavier.
And the inbox somehow feels fuller.

But this long break also reminded me of something important.

The older I get, the more I treasure simple moments with family.

The conversations.
The meals together.
The drives to activities.
The little moments that often pass by too quickly.

Maybe that’s why so many working mums dream about having a little more flexibility.

Not because we don’t want to work.

But because we want more freedom to enjoy the moments that matter most.

To all the working mums heading back tomorrow…

We’ve got this.

And if you’ve ever caught yourself wishing for a little more flexibility in your future, maybe it’s worth exploring what other options might be available to you.

Sometimes a better future starts with a simple conversation.

When I first started building my online business, I thought success was all about working harder.

But as a working mum, I quickly realised I didn’t have endless hours to give.

Over time, I learned that having the right tools, systems and guidance can make a huge difference.

Just like this bread mixer doesn’t make the bread for me, the right business tools don’t do the work for me either.

They simply help me get there more efficiently.

One of the biggest mindset shifts I’ve had is this:

Working harder isn’t always the answer.

Sometimes the answer is learning how to work smarter. 💛

What tools have helped make your life or work easier recently?

One thing my husband and I enjoyed before we had children was food hunting.

Back then, it was just the two of us exploring new cafes and restaurants whenever we felt like it.

These days, our food adventures look a little different.

Instead of just the two of us, we now have two growing kids joining us around the table. ❤️

Today we tried a new dessert shop and the food was delicious. My favourite was the black sesame tang yuan in ginger soup. So comforting and satisfying after a meal.

As I sat there looking around the table, I realised something…

The food is nice, but it’s the company that makes these moments special.

Sometimes the best memories are not the big holidays or expensive experiences.

They’re simply sharing a meal, having conversations, and being present with the people we love.

And for that, I’m grateful. 💛
