Thought of the Day: Goals and Knowledge
It is ever so common that when we formulate a goal, we do so lacking knowledge to achieve them. However that is ‘ok’. That because the goal in itself manifests from need or desire rather than the knowing of particular knowledge with respect to the goal concerned. Nevertheless when we embark on achieving such a goal, it also ever so often, some level of knowledge gained reflects why the goal cannot be achieved. This may range from resources one has to the environment one is currently in. It is at this point, I feel that our desire or need to achieve that goal is tested. And in most instances these knowledge that presents itself, purposefully found or unintentionally volunteered, has the effect of detouring most in not embarking on the journey towards the goal first so desired or needed.
Those that do succeed however take a different approach. They do not detour themselves from the goal. Instead those knowledge seen to be obstacles are seen are areas of opportunity to innovate solutions, challenge the norm and blaze new trails. Hence forthwith these knowledge that show things cannot be done or difficult or that the journey will be longer than expected is where our intelligence will be tested should we choose to embark on the journey that will inevitably lead us into new frontiers.
In addition to knowledge that show obstacles, we should also expand knowledge on why and how the goal can be achieved. This may necessarily involve seeking knowledge about the goal itself, be it business, personal life, or anything for that matter. Such knowledge will inevitably reveal options and solutions needed to overcome the obstacles presented.
