Salmon or Trout?
They may be similar but are distinct species fish. Trout is freshwater fish, while salmon is saltwater fish.

Salmon has higher fat content (almost twice omega-3 fatty acids) than trout. Salmon is good for breastfeeding mothers as it contains more vitamin C and B6

In terms of taste, salmon has that characteristic velvety smoothness while trout has a firmer , more voluptuous bite to it.

Both fish is rich in omega-3 , which is said to prevent and reduce development of cardiovascular diseases and important building blocks in the brain. They have selenium , which is an important element in an enzyme that fights harmful chemical processes.
Trout is also rich in vitamin D ( helps to strengthen bones) , while salmon is loaded with vitamin A ( improves vision and immune response)

Easy Peasy Salmon Recipe

1 1/2 medium lemons
4 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
4 skin-on salmon fillets
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Juice 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Cut the remaining 1/2 lemon into 4 wedges for serving. Mince 4 garlic cloves. Chop until you have 2 tablespoons fresh parsley leaves. Pat 4 salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season with 1 teaspoon kosher salt.

2. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the salmon skin-side down and and sear until golden-brown on the bottom, about 4 minutes. Flip the salmon. Add 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter and the garlic and continue to cook, occasionally using a spoon to baste the salmon with the butter. Continue for another 2 -4 minutes or so (not to over-cook your salmon).

3. Sprinkle with the parsley and drizzle with the lemon juice. Serve with the lemon wedges.

What’s for dinner? Let’s try clam pasta using our Frozen Clam Whole (1kg) for only RM 19.80

Ingredients
▢ 1 lb whole clams
▢ ½ lb spaghetti
▢ 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
▢ 2 cloves garlic
▢ 2 red chilies
▢ ½ cup dry white wine (optional)
▢ 1 sprig parsley
▢ ⅛ tsp freshly ground black pepper
▢ ¼ tsp kosher/sea salt

Cook Pasta
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta, stirring occasionally, to prevent it from sticking together. Cook until soft then drain it

To Cook Clams
1.Meanwhile, in a large sauté pan heat the olive oil over medium heat. When it’s hot, add garlic and red chili pepper. Reduce heat to medium low and sauté until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

2. Add the clams and wine (optional), then increase the heat to medium. Quickly cover and steam for 5 minutes or until all the clams have opened.

3. Discard the clams that didn’t open. Finely chop the parsley and add some of it, then season with pepper.

4. Adjust the taste with pepper and salt (clams are already salty so you probably don’t need to add too much salt).

5. Add the pasta and toss until pasta is coated with the sauce.

6. Remove from the heat and put clams on top. Sprinkle some parsley and serve immediately.
