Curious eyes and constant chatter.

We spent a quiet moment watching these vervet monkeys going about their day in Bwabwata National Park — alert, playful, and always watching back. It’s fascinating how much personality you see when you slow down and observe.

What’s your favourite thing to photograph in the wild — animals up close or moments from a distance?

Some places don’t need words — they just slow you down.

Bwabwata National Park is raw, quiet, and beautifully untamed. Watching wildlife move freely here reminds me how small we really are, and how important it is to protect spaces like this.

Which moment speaks to you most?

The Lilac-breasted Roller in all its colourful glory, photographed in Bwabwata National Park.
Wild. Free. Unforgettable.

📸 Hippos of Bwabwata National Park 🦛

Calm water, powerful presence. These hippos may look relaxed, but they’re among Africa’s most dangerous animals. Weighing up to 1.5 tons, they move fast on land, dominate the water, and spend their days cooling off before grazing at night.

Pure, wild Namibia — and a reminder to always respect nature. 🌍📷

A special sighting in the heart of Bwabwata National Park
We were fortunate to spot the magnificent Giant Kingfisher perched quietly along the riverbank. Africa’s largest kingfisher, perfectly still, watching the water with patience and precision A true reminder of how rich and wild Namibia’s nature is.

Bwabwata National Park | African Buffalo 🐃📸

There’s something deeply humbling about encountering an African buffalo in the wild.
Powerful. Calm. Alert.
This old bull stood his ground, watching every movement — a true symbol of Africa’s raw wilderness.

About the African Buffalo (Syncerus caffer):
• One of Africa’s “Big Five”
• Known for strong herd bonds and exceptional memory
• Can weigh up to 900 kg

A reminder that in places like Bwabwata, nature still rules and we are simply guests with cameras.

Bolsover Castle ❄️🏰📸
Explored this 17th-century hilltop beauty today — mist swirling around the walls like something out of a movie.
The cold was next level, but the views were worth every frozen finger!
Misty courtyards and that dramatic winter backdrop made every photo feel magical.
Cold weather + ancient castles = perfect combo.

Sundown on the banks of the Hoanib River
As the sun sets over the west, golden grass lights up the hills. Silence. Space. Namibia in its purest form.

From Above: Namibia’s Desert Veins
Aerial views of Namibia reveal a different kind of beauty. Dry rivers, winding streams, and endless gravel roads carving through the desert like the veins of the Earth. Nature’s artwork.

This was captured on a flight from Windhoek to the remote Hoanib region, offering a bird’s-eye view of the untouched wilderness that few ever get to see.

📸 Amazing sighting in the Hoanib flood plains!
Spotted this elusive beauty — a Caracal, or as we locally know it, a Rooikat, on the hunt in the wild Hoanib River. This was my first time ever seeing a Rooikat in the wild, and what a moment it was… silently stalking a mouse in the golden light.

Such a magnificent and powerful animal — sleek, alert, and built for the chase.

🧠 Did you know?
• Caracals can leap up to 3 meters high and catch birds mid-flight.
• Their name comes from the Turkish word “karakulak”, meaning “black ear”.
• Though often solitary, they’re incredibly territorial and adaptable.
• Their ear tufts aren’t just for looks — they help with communication and camouflage in the wild.
• They’re mostly nocturnal and masters of stealth — which is why sightings like this are so rare!
