German-Based Brother Sends Thugs to Teach Sibling a Lesson Over Missing Doors—Ends with More Drama Than a Soap Opera
Kingsley Okoye, a 28-year-old from Okpuno Umuogali in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, has tragically died after being attacked by thugs hired by his elder brother, Joseph Okoye, who lives in Germany. The attack occurred on July 21, 2024, following a dispute over stolen building site doors.
Reports indicate that Joseph orchestrated the assault after discovering that Kingsley had sold three doors from his new house to buy food items. This desperate act came after a previous conflict where Joseph sold a shared family property without sharing the proceeds, leading to Kingsley’s hardship.
Witness Kosisochukwu Samuel Uzoekwe explained that Kingsley, struggling with hunger, took the doors and sold them. Joseph then sent money to his sister Ebele to hire thugs for retribution. Ebele, who denies involvement, claimed she was at a graduation ceremony when she learned of the attack and suggested Joseph's fiancée was responsible for hiring the thugs.
The thugs—identified as Mr. Samuel Arinze (Jukwaaese), Emeka (DPO), and a non-indigene known as Moon Boy—brutally assaulted Kingsley and took him to Sahara Hospital in Oba, where he was pronounced dead. They then left his body at FAH Hospital and disappeared, turning off their phones.
Joseph Okoye admitted to hiring the thugs but insisted his goal was to recover the stolen doors, not to cause harm. He claimed he only wanted to find the doors and instructed the thugs to take Kingsley to the hospital if needed. Joseph expressed shock at his brother’s death and insisted the thugs acted beyond his instructions.
