THE TARGET AUDIENCE I LOVE

I bring greetings to all school owners, principals, administrators, and teachers. I joined this group to add value to the school.

My name is Caroline Amarachi Mbata. I am currently a Headteacher, a Teacher, and a Data Entry Specialist.

As a Data Entry Specialist, I help small businesses like schools reduce financial stress by teaching them how to use different software in keeping financial records.

Simply put, the more money you make, the thicker your financial system will be. Most schools are no longer keeping cash in a ledger book, it is now in the bank.

Most schools are no longer just keeping it in the bank, they are re-investing the money.

It's not always easy to track a debtor. Our system in my school is to pay all money into the bank and provide receipts. But, we discovered that some parents who pay part payment will refuse to pay in full. As in, pay to the last kobo. They either forget to add the remaining N500 or intentionally do it. I don't whether some school owners or admin experience that.

Due to the embarrassment, they give school management by threatening to remove their child/children from the school, we end up in financial stress. It affects the business. School is a business.

Teachers who get discounts for registering their children in the school get discouraged when there is a rise in school fees and resigns. Which can lead to financial stress for school owners in recovering debts from such teachers or tracking the debts.

HOW TO DEAL WITH FINANCIAL STRESS AS A SCHOOL OWNER/ADMIN

I recently met a principal who had the idea of having a tuck shop on the school premises. A tuck shop is a small retailer located either within or close to the grounds of a school, hospital, etc.

She wanted software that could help her track the sales and purchases in that tuck shop. She was so particular about it.

I told her, I have learned a software that can provide receipts and also reduce financial stress in her record keeping.

She was interested and asked me to teach her school accountant.

The first business I had engaged in, was shares. I was in secondary school when a few of us were selected to buy shares. I was in Junior Secondary 3. A company came to our school and we bought shares from them. I can't remember them now.

My classmates and I started a saving venture in secondary school and I became their bank. Like I posted earlier, I was a smart commercial student.

I didn't start my field today. God always wakes me up to remind me where he started in my life and expects me to go on.

TEACHING BRINGS A LOT OF JOY TO MY LIFE.

The first time I caught up with who I am and what I am supposed to be doing was in secondary school.

I was a commercial student and my best subject was commerce and account. So, during break time, I will sneak into science class. That's where my friends are. They will be boosting about how science is the best. I will challenge them. We kept on arguing and debating.

Funny enough, whenever I argue with them, I laugh at the expression on their faces when they get my point. After the argument, we went home together. They were the BEST.

I derive joy in seeing people bring out their points, especially my pupils, students, and friends. It doesn't offend me when they express themselves. It gives me so much joy, to correct and explain.

As a teacher, I learn.

There is something I want you to learn from me as a Business owner.

You may not be a big business owner. Just small businesses like mine can learn.

Learn one software that helps you record contacts of customers/clients and their financial transactions with you.

Learn to use it for your financials.

Learn how to deal with bad debts.

Learn simply.

All you need to do is type in figures, information, date, due date, etc and the software will do the rest.

Don't wait till accountants charge you so high before you learn to do it yourself.

Some small business owners don't have record books or cash books. I know most of my friends starting their businesses don't have.

THE POWER OF FACEBOOK ADS AND YOUR CONTENT

My girlfriend, Judith, will always tag me with a title. Whenever I post my pictures or any activity during my University days on Facebook, she will say "Amara will always put a write-up before posting anything".

Lol...I always laugh. I didn't know what gave me the idea of always giving wonderful content with a beautiful picture. That was in 2016 and look at everyone talking about content writing now. It's so amazing that God has given this knowledge for a long while and the wise ones can harness it and become rich.

I am interested in learning about Facebook ads. Look at our school page and how a 5 days ad started boosting our page and we have been getting phone calls and messages. It's not even up to Day 3.
