You are in a relationship with your business. Just as your family and friends needs your time your business does too.

You shouldn't be on autopilot all the time, have some time dedicated to taking a step back to reviewing what works and doesn't. Sometimes you need a third eyes to help you see things from a fresh perspective.

Ask friends for opinion, by now you should know that as an entrepreneur the best type of person to surround yourself with are entrepreneurs like yourself. Go online and make some market researches, get connected to websites and forums that gives you update on the relevant things going on in your market. Read books, if you can't watch YouTube videos. Meet with other business owners who are ahead of you and ask them questions related to your business challenges.

When structural adjustments or even the slightest changes in mindset are made it reflects on the overall outlook of your business from prospects and existing customers.

Your business is what you are.

It's not easy to brand yourself, that is the truth.. Do you know why?
The problem isn't just finding a niche for yourself but sticking to it.

So here it is, I think it's better to see your brand as a process other than an event. Just like your business as a whole which evolves, your brand does too. It might not be easy for you as an entrepreneur to figure out what you want to stick to or be known for right off the bat, although it is not a problem for other, we're different individuals.

Just give yourself time to explore yourself, your abilities and your personalities. You'll soon come up with something that is truly you.

Now unto marketing... If you want to succeed in business this new year read this!

Marketing is a tree with many branches. It is a set of activities ranging from knowing your customers, positioning your products and services to meet suit them, getting the product/ service to reach them, leading them to sales, delivering your promise, turning them into loyal customers and keeping them.

As complex as marketing might seem, I've found out that there are two most important arms to it. Number one branding, and number two selling.

Most business owners make the error of thinking sales is separate from marketing. Yes, for the start its alright to think them differently but to succeed in the market you have to see them as one.

There are differences between the approaches of a sales person and a marketer, but you need both.

Marketing is about creating a brand and selling. YOUR BRAND IS WHAT YOU WANT TO BE KNOWN FOR, simple. Everybody can be selling wigs but everybody should not just be selling wigs, what differentiates your wig from others is your brand. The PROCESS of PREACHING this difference is called BRANDING. Brand is what people stick to. It's your message, it's your story, it's what your business stands for.

You must be able to draw people to your brand and also take the brand to people, that's one difference between a marketer and a salesperson. You're both remember?

Selling on the other hand involves techniques. You have to sell your brand to make profit. Selling and marketing as a whole has been on constant change for decades. Why? Because the market which is the root of marketing has been changing. There are different sales techniques out there, but I've found out some amazing factors that compels sales.

Gone are those days people uses manipulations and mind control tricks to get people to buy. Today's customers are different, they need to see and experience RESULTS first before committing their penny to you. So I strongly believe that the current winning technique is RESULT-BASED selling. Tell them a story of someone's who has their need, show them how your product /service solved the person's problem, promise they would experience the same, then tell them to buy within a specific period of time after which the product /service or a major benefit will be withdrawn.

There are different paths to selling but all are rooted in the psychology and emotion of humans. Although human changes, there are some mindset and behaviors that doesn't change, that's what makes us still humans.

Building solid marketing takes years, financial investments and efforts. Focus on your branding, create one now if you haven't. Learn more about the psychology behind selling to your specific market. Keep at your marketing campaigns, continue to test what works and what doesn't.

So what's the difference between a sales pitch and a sales presentation?

As an enterpreneur these terms are important for you to know, however, it is as important to know the difference so you won't interchange them and hurt your marketing as a result.

WHAT IS A SALES PITCH
Basically, a sales pitch is a short conversation you have with a prospect which goal is to arouse their interest in your product/service and get them to buy.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A SALES PITCH
1. Short and persuasive
2. Does not involve charts, documents and PowerPoint slides
3. Done on the spot, doesn't allow for fixing venues.
4. Usually involve individuals

WHAT IS A SALES PRESENTATION
A sales presentation on the other hand is a longer version of sale pitch. It is much anticipated and involves logistics such as place, time and materials to aid convincing prospects.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A SALES PRESENTATION.
1. Involves team of presenters against team of prospects. For example, your sales team against representatives from your prospect company.
2. Use of materials and slides.
3. Fixing of venue which can be anywhere comfortable
4. Involves more planning and preparation since it is anticipated.

Now you know the difference between the both term, you won't have to bore your prospects with long speeches which falls Into the sales presentation scheme when you have to just give a powerful 5 minutes speech. Get it right, scale your marketing 100%

What do you do when as an entrepreneur nobody around you understands you.

It's alright to be in such shoes, not every one gets the luxury of being born into a business minded family.

BUSINESS IS FOR EVERYBODY BUT EVERYBODY IS NOT FOR BUSINESS.

So the first solution is to attach yourself to like minded individuals.

If you can't easily reach them simply go online and join active social media groups, pages and Internet platforms that talks about your interest. Follow up on posts and comment, send requests and pick up chats with members.

Accept that not every one will be like you, have similar interests as you or think like you do. One of the qualities of an entrepreneur is the ability to motivate oneself.

You must be willing to achieve your business goals no matter the Obstacles. Its okay to feel down but an entrepreneur gets back up and try again.

The lack of vibes from your environment may not only affect you indirectly BUT they might also directly attack you. Your friends might talk down on your goals and your family might discourage you from pursuing your dreams but you must not let yourself be deterred by them.

These people love you but they might also be harming you in the process. It's not intentional they just don't realise it. You are the one to strike a balance on their behalf.

There you have it! Next time you're faced with this problem remember these things I've just told you, because you are the most important part of your success.

At some point you must have tried talking prospects into buy from you but your sales presentation had zero conversion or converted below expectation...
