Scandals everywhere

On my way to work this morning, I saw two ladies fighting, and everyone was laughing and snapping away.

I know the headline caught your attention. We love storytelling. I love you for taking interest on my post.

I am participating in the 14-day visibility with Uduak, so expect juicy educational and legal contents with a touch of fun.

I joined this challenge for more visibility and to invite university students to join my free online training on Telegram.

So, we are waiting for students to finish their first-semester exams before resuming the free training.

I would also like to make new friends with whom I can engage and collaborate.

If you would like to connect and collaborate, comment YES.

Thank you, Uduak, for this amazing opportunity.

From casual conversation to career breakthrough. Insights on networking and community.

Networking has always been a key part of my professional journey. I landed my first job through casual networking—while visiting a friend's office, I engaged with her colleagues. One of them was impressed with my skills and offered me a paid position on the spot, which was a significant boost to my career.

A huge thank you to Olagunju-Lana for the incredibly insightful session on Building Leadership Skills for Sustainable Development in Africa. One major takeaway for me was the importance of quality networking and being part of a thriving community.

Seun's advice to avoid being a "leech"—receiving without contributing—resonated deeply. Instead, she encouraged us to identify our passions and use them to solve problems around us. True leadership, she emphasized, lies in giving back, collaborating, and making a positive impact.

Her words reminded me that networking is not just about personal gain; it's about creating value for others and contributing to collective growth.

Thank you, Seun, for sharing your wisdom and inspiring us to lead with purpose.

How has networking impacted your personal or professional growth? Have you ever experienced unexpected opportunities through your network?

Are you aware that failure to file your annual returns with the Corporate Affairs Commission could jeopardize your business?

The Corporate Affairs Commission directs all registered companies to file annual returns, as stated in the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020.

The filing of annual returns updates your company information, especially the financial status, thereby building trust with your prospective investors and clients.

I have noticed that some companies delay filing their annual returns, thereby accumulating penalties and missing out on huge deals.

The timely filing of annual returns ensures your company's efficiency, keeps your business organized with the Corporate Affairs Commission, and protects it from eventualities.

When is your annual return due for filing?

🎯For new companies, your first annual returns are due after 18 months of incorporation.

🎯For fresh business names, it is due the following year after registration, not later than June 30th of each year.

🎯It is also a yearly mandate to file incorporated trustees’ annual returns.

Who are incorporated trustees? They are non-profit organizations, for example: religious bodies, NGOs, charities, cultural associations, and educational foundations/initiatives.

Make it a yearly priority to file your annual returns, ensure your company’s transparency, and maintain its legal standing.

The Corporate Affairs Commission takes noncompliance with annual return filing seriously, which can lead to striking off a company from the register, preventing it from conducting business, entering into contracts, and freezing of assets, including money in the bank account.

Do not wait till it is too late to file your annual returns; contact us now to ensure that your company remains active at the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Why Not Secure Your Brand Name?

Just the other day, I received a call from a client who is in a predicament. He discovered that another company is using its name as a trademark and wants to change it.

He felt it was unnecessary to trademark the brand name when he registered the business at the Corporate Affairs Commission. He is on the verge of losing a big contract because of this mistake.

Do not let this happen to you. After your registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, trademark your brand name. Doing so lays a strong foundation for your business, making it effortless for expansion and exploring new markets.

If you need guidance, I am here to help make your business thrive!

Maximize your impact in the second quarter of 2024.

Happy new month, everyone!

Hello, parents, educators, and community leaders. Too many promising young people are being left behind due to circumstances beyond their control. I recently spoke with teenagers who are struggling with serious challenges that threaten to hinder their futures.

They are facing challenges like lack of educational funding, intense peer pressure, time management struggles, and barriers to college admissions, which are holding these teenagers back.

Yet, these teens are eager to learn, grow, and make a positive impact. They just need access to the right guidance, resources, and opportunities.

👔Parents, your time and attention are just as valuable as financial support. Don't let long work hours or your personal issues prevent you from getting to know your teenager, understanding their struggles, and providing the mentorship they crave. When you invest in their development as good citizens, it is the greatest gift you can give.

👔Business owners, civic leaders—you have an important role to play too. Make it a priority to visit secondary schools and universities and offer internships and apprenticeships to serious students. Not only will this provide crucial real-world experience, but it will also motivate teenagers to study harder and achieve their goals.

As passionate and influential members of your community, you have the power to change the lives of these young people.

Here are some ways you can get involved:

➡️Volunteer as a tutor or mentor to provide academic support and college or career planning.

➡️Donate to scholarship funds, school programs, or community organizations that serve youth and advocate for increased funding and services for students.

➡️Host internships, apprenticeships, or skills-training workshops to develop teens' real-world abilities.

With your help, we can give these teenagers the boost they need to overcome their challenges and achieve their dreams. A small investment of your time or resources could make all the difference.

Let us come together to create a brighter future for all young people, regardless of their family's financial means.

Comment below if you have additional ways to get involved.

Are you letting your limiting beliefs, thoughts and feelings steer your ship and stop you from taking uncomfortable action?

We've all been there:

😰 Waiting for the right moment
😰 The perfect opportunity
😰 A surge of motivation
😰 To feel good enough, smart enough, skilled enough, important enough
😰 Wanting people's approval to feel good about ourselves
😰 Wanting to 'fit in'
😰 Comparison and competition

But have you ever compared these feelings with what it would be like to wake up every day ready to take uncomfortable action, confidently face the day's challenges, and take different actions to move forward with momentum?

I know from my own experiences how much the former ways heavily on your mind and heart (and life) and how taking courageous, uncomfortable action makes you feel unstoppable and free!

I took action when there was no guarantee of success or rewards. In 2020, I stopped being a litigation barrister and started on a new path - following my passions: solely mediation briefs, leadership coaching and consulting.

It's been uncomfortable, sometimes really challenging, but I don't want to do anything else!

The struggle to take uncomfortable action is not easy, but it is a struggle you choose so you move forward, get momentum, achieve and be your best self as you serve others.

So if your mindset is controlling your actions, think about investing in yourself and your future so your actions influence your mindset, so you take courageous and confident action to do things that matter to you - in your mediations, as leaders and teams, in your families, and in life.

Not someone else's.
