Yesterday, 25th September 2025, I Jijingi Ngutor, FIMC, CMC had the honour of attending the 2025 Second Edition of the InnoFest & Heritage Expo as a Special Guest of Honour on behalf of HOFLI Products and Services Ltd (HOFLI PSL).
As an ICT/Management Consultant and Industry Expert, I was truly amazed at the level of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial drive I witnessed. I with the HOD of Computer Science, I had the privilege of grading several ICT and innovation projects developed by upcoming SMEs and brilliant students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
What struck me most was the interdisciplinary collaboration, students from Psychology, Economics, Philosophy, and many other departments showcasing ICT-driven solutions and projects. This confirms that innovation knows no boundaries.
Beyond ICT, students equally exhibited diverse entrepreneurial skills including carpet & throw pillow making, baking, soap & cosmetics production, tailoring, graphics design (data visualization), Kilishi processing, and many more. Every student had engaged in at least one skill area, a testament to the incredible vision and hard work of Professor Rashida F. O, Director of the EDC, for driving this energy and integrating industry practitioners with students for hands-on professional skills and knowledge.
In my goodwill message, I emphasized that “your course of study should not limit you from diversifying and acquiring skills required for wealth creation and the economic growth of Nigeria, our dear country.”
My sincere appreciation goes to the Vice Chancellor of NSUK for her leadership, the EDC Director, Professor Rashida F. O, the Emir of Keffi, partners, innovators, entrepreneurs, students, and everyone who contributed to making this event a true festival of innovation.
Indeed, it was not just an Expo but an Innovation Festival that inspires hope for the future of Nigeria as a nation.
