A month ago, a woman in my area who had been struggling to survive with her children gathered courage, gathered fire wood by the roadside using her biggest cooking pot, she started frying Akara.
Gradually, she was able to buy proper frying pan and put up an umbrella. Then she added Pap and Bread and then Yam and sauce.
Today, I was driving to work and saw some big cars parked there just to buy Akara and pap or bread and Akara for breakfast before going to work.
Meanwhile, another woman in the same environment keep sitting at a particular spot begging for money every morning.
One is creating opportunity, another is waiting for opportunity.
I know a graduate who after looking for job for a while post graduation, went into roasted plantain business by the road side. Gradually he added sauce, fish, roasted yam and kept growing.
Today, he has a standard restaurant with the roasted yam, plantain and fish as one of his major menu and attractive point. People order from different part of the city and he now has a complimentary delivery business.
There is money on the street, dont despise it.
Start from where you are, start with what you have and grow from there.
There is money on the streets.
And by the way, who said that graduates cannot do certain businesses or trades? Just do in an excellent manner like the graduate that you are and you will stand out.
This year, create opportunities, donโt wait for opportunities.
