The part 2 of The Alchemist made me think about how easy it is to stay where we're comfortable.
Santiago meets an old king who tells him something that stayed with me: everyone has a purpose, but many people give up on it because of fear, comfort or what others might think.
One thing I appreciated was that Santiago didn't have everything figured out before he started his journey. He simply took the next step.
That reminded me that sometimes we're waiting for certainty when all we really need is obedience and courage.
I'm learning that growth doesn't always begin with having all the answers. Sometimes it begins with saying yes to the next step, even when the whole journey isn't clear.
As someone who is learning to trust God more, this challenged me to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
📖 What happened:
Santiago meets Melchizedek, who encourages him to pursue his Personal Legend. To begin his journey, Santiago makes a difficult decision, he sells his sheep and leaves behind the life he's always known.
💭 What I learnt:
Growth often requires letting go of what's familiar so we can embrace what God is leading us toward.
🤍 My reflection:
I'm learning that faith isn't about having every answer. It's about trusting God enough to take the next step.
💬 Question:
Has there been a time when you had to leave your comfort zone to grow?

I just started reading The Alchemist for the second time, and the opening chapters immediately got me thinking.

We meet Santiago, a young shepherd who keeps having the same dream. Instead of ignoring it, he becomes curious enough to search for its meaning.

That made me pause.

How many times do we ignore the things that keep stirring our hearts because they seem too unrealistic, inconvenient, or uncertain?

One lesson I'm already taking away is that growth often begins with paying attention. Before taking a big step, we first need to be willing to ask questions, seek understanding, and remain open to where the answers may lead.

As someone who values faith and personal growth, this reminded me that it's okay to pause, reflect, and ask God for direction instead of rushing through life.

I'll be sharing where Santiago's journey leads him in the next part of the book.

To my darling hubstar,

The years may pass, but my gratitude for you only grows.

Thank you for being the man who holds my hand through every season and fills our home with love. My prayer is that God crowns your new year with favour and makes every step ahead fruitful and beautiful.

You are loved beyond words and cherished beyond measure.

Happy Birthday, my heart. ❤️

Happy new month!!!
Welcome to May.
I’m stepping into this month with a quiet kind of expectation, not pressure, not noise, just trust.
Trusting God with my plans, my growth, my home
and everything in between.
I’m learning that not every season has to be loud to be meaningful.
Some growth happens quietly… and still matters.
My prayer for this month is simple,
Peace in my heart.
Clarity in my decisions.
Grace for each day.
May this month be gentle with us.
And may God guide us in ways we may not even see yet.
🙏
💬 What are you trusting God for this month?

First, chapter 3 and 4 talks about habits and routines, how the things we do over and over become the foundation of who we are. Not once, not occasionally but consistently. If we want better results, we have to build better habits.

Second, it showed that momentum is real. Once good habits start, they build on themselves. But the opposite is true too, bad choices stack up just as quickly.
What stood out the most to me is how easy it is to fall back into old ways and how important it is to stay intentional. Growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when we choose it again and again.

My takeaway: Be consistent with the decisions that matter. The direction we’re headed tomorrow starts with what we choose today.

I’d love to hear from you:
What habit are you trying to be more intentional about next week?

Three years ago, I said yes to my better half, my prayer partner and the man God specifically designed for me. God has truly been the center of our home and His grace is the reason our love keeps growing stronger. We’ve built, stretched, prayed, laughed, and chosen each other intentionally every single day. Marriage really looks good on us and honestly, I would still choose you again and again. Cheers to love, purpose, legacy and many more beautiful years together. ❤️✨🌹🎊

This week, I finished Chapters One and Two of The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy.
In Chapter One, the book reminded me that small daily choices matter more than we often realise. Not the big decisions we make once in a while, but the little things we do consistently. That’s where real growth happens.
Chapter Two went deeper into how our choices shape the direction of our lives. It explained that our habits whether good or bad aren’t usually dramatic, but they are consistent. And over time, those repeated actions make all the difference.
What stood out for me most is that progress doesn’t require dramatic change.
It requires daily consistency.
This made me reflect on my routines, my habits and the small decisions I make every day as a woman, a wife, a mother and a learner.
My biggest takeaway:
Where we’re headed tomorrow is being shaped by the choices we make today.
I’d love to hear from you:
What small choice are you going to be more intentional about?

Hello 👋🏽
I realised I haven’t properly introduced myself here in a while.
My name is Rukayat Bolanle Adetula.
I’m a wife, a mother and someone who is constantly learning, building and becoming.
This season of my life is very intentional for me. I’m choosing to show up more openly and share the things that are shaping my growth not just the outcomes, but the process.
Going forward, you’ll be seeing more of:
- Book reviews and lessons from what I’m reading
- Thoughts on faith and Christian living
- Reflections on motherhood and family life
- Conversations around growth, leadership, tech, and learning
- Real lessons from building and working through life daily
Nothing overly polished.
Just honest learning, shared as I go.
If any of this resonates with you, you’re very welcome here 🤍
And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for staying.
