Last week, After our session with 20 participants of the Circular Economy Youth Empowerment Initiative (CEYEI), we received immediate feedback from some of them that they did not know how to operate a sewing machine.

We immediately took an hour to teach them the basics, how to pedal, thread and oil a manual sewing machine.

We have now concluded that every Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be dedicated to hands-on machine practice and personal projects until the end of their training duration.

We are building skills step by step and we appreciate the and for the opportunity to implement and lead the Abuja training centre through .

The second phase of the Circular Economy Youth Empowerment Initiative (CEYEI), an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Youth & Sports Development, Nigeria, powered by ActionAid, is live across 5 states (FCT-Abuja, Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Borno, and Enugu)

We are honored to lead the implementation of the FCT-Abuja training centre.

On Monday, we welcomed registered participants from different parts of Abuja, all eager to learn.

Our Founder, Ms. Blessing Evea Onwe led the conversation on the circular economy and how young people can leverage upcycling skills for economic development. From a self-taught crafter in Abuja to a global leader and multi-award-winning impact leader with footprints from Abuja to China, she showed them what is possible when you take your skill seriously.

The energy in the room was inspiring, they asked great questions, with rich contributions, and real excitement for what is ahead. This training is fully free, with transportation stipends provided for participants.

We are ready to learn, build, and grow together.

A walk-in client brought her clutch purse to us last week for a revamp.

She said she stopped carrying it over 2 years ago when she noticed it was peeling, but she just couldn’t bring herself to throw it away.

Last Thursday, she asked a bag maker if he could fix it or knew someone who could. The bag maker directed her to us.
