COVID-19 Pandemic presents sever health challenges as a virus and excessive socioeconomic and psychological challenges as a result of the containment and control measures. While everyone is affected, the pandemic has devastating consequences on women and girls; from health and the economy, to security and social protection. The rights of women must be protected!

Gender equality and women’s rights are being threatened and the gains made over the years are being eroded. The special needs of women and the girl child are not explicitly addressed in the containment measures; rather the measures are deepening pre-existing inequalities, increasing the vulnerability of women and the girl child.

PLEASE JOIN THE CONFERENCE TO:

*Amplify the vulnerability of women and children at this time.

*Exponential increase in women’s unpaid care work as a result of school closures and the increased needs of older PEOPLE.
