THE POWER OF VISUALIZATION

Visualization means forming a mental image of something. In regards to mindset, it means forming a mental picture of how you want your life to turn out.

Visualization is a powerful tool for self-development and for your mindset, as well. Rather than having a negative mindset about your life, it is better to adapt visualization as a tool to shape your future.

This is also important because:

🔸It increases your self-confidence.

🔸It gives you a chance to feel success.

🔸It brings you closer to your goal.

🔸It is not limited to life coaches or personal development experts. It is good for you also.

Do the following to aid your visualization as we approach 2025:

🔹Be intentional about what you want.

🔹Create a mental picture of the goal you want to achieve or the life you aspire to live.

🔹Write down your vision in a journal or diary to keep track of your progress.

🔹Take conscious steps every day to achieve your goals.

Update!

Asides my book launch, I'll also be hosting a webinar for parents, teachers, infact, everyone, whether old or young because the knowledge you'll gain from the webinar will be beneficial to you sometime in the future, if not now.

Our children—boys and girls— need to be protected from people who disguise themselves as family, only to hurt and leave them scarred for life.

Whenever I host webinars, I'm very intentional about the speakers and topics I choose.

I chose the theme for the upcoming webinar based on my storybook 'Beneath the Surface'. We cannot overemphasize the issues and cases revolving around family members m*lesting the children left in their care.

It is a common topic we see on the internet every time.

The problem is not the problem, the problem lies in the solution. How do we curb this menace?

It is for this reason that I tagged this webinar "Building Safe Spaces: Protecting Children From M*lestation at Home and Beyond".

Yes! M*lestation doesn't happen only at home. Every time your children are out of your sight makes them susceptible to ab*se and mölestation.

Teenagers are not left out. Infact, the main character in my story, Kaima, is 19 years old and was molested by her most trusted uncle, Donald, who is an intern Medical Doctor.

That's to tell you that a pedöphile is a pedöphile, regardless of their profession or vocation.

The plot twist is not something you'll expect.

Let me give you a little insight to the story.

It's about a teenage girl, about 19 years old, who was raised with love by her parents, but she was m*lested by her uncle whom she trusted, right under her parents' roof and could not tell her parents about it.

They eventually found out when they noticed a change in her behaviour. The decision they took on the matter is not what you think it would be.

Now that you know this, help me choose a cover that is most suitable for the storybook and tell me why you think it's most suitable.

What will you do as a teenager, if your most trusted relation takes advantage of you under your parents' roof and threatens you to keep mute?

In most cases, people don't come out to talk about this, not just because of the threat, but because of how society will see them.

You will agree with me that situations like this unfold every day in Nigeria and even beyond.

As a parent, what measures would you take if your child falls victim to such a situation?

THE TASTE OF FREEDOM (A SHORT STORY)

“You’re the worst mistake of my life! I wish I never met you. I can’t believe I wasted 2 years of my life dating you. You’re useless and shameless; you have nothing to offer me. I’m done with you!”

Michelle laughed sardonically as she read the break-up text her ex, Fred, had sent her 3 years ago. She laughed until she was almost out of breath. She couldn't believe the piece of tr*sh she dated in the form of a man.

When she received the break-up text, she did not have the guts to reply to him, because she was oblivious of what the future holds for her. Instead, she saved it in her archive and decided to face her life.

Going through her old messages 3 years later, she thought for a while and decided that it was time to give him a piece of her mind. Tapping the ‘Reply’ bar, she types:

“Dear Fred, it’s been 3 long years apart from you. If someone had told me I would survive without you, I would have doubted it. But here I am, sound, hale and hearty.

Sometimes, it’s good for someone to experience some things to learn a lesson and thanks to you, I’ve learnt mine.

Thinking about it now, you never deserved me. You never deserved every single act of love I poured out on you. I gave you my heart, soul, and body. I gave you everything— I almost gave up my identity, too— but you were never satisfied.

You always looked for a way to make fun of me, you talk to me anyhow, even in public. You said the meanest things to me, you never treated me like a human being, not to talk of a lover. I knew I didn't deserve the treatments I received from you, but I lacked the guts to leave.

Thank you for ending it all. Thank you for liberating me. I wouldn't be where I am today if you hadn't sent me this text. You were a limitation to my being and career.

In three years, I run a successful business of my own, I connect and network with people of influence, I go on trips in and out of the country, amongst other things.

I wouldn't have achieved all of these even if I stayed with you for ten years. You’re a misogynist who never loves to see a woman grow. I wonder what has become of you.

Anyway, I'm going to stop writing now. You’re not even worth the energy, but you can consider it a privilege. I hope you enjoy the rest of your m*serable life.

“Phew! That’s settled,” Michelle said as she took a deep breath. “Now, it’s time to celebrate my freedomversary,” she thought, as she twirls the glass of wine in her hand and took a sip.

Going through the chapters of the story I wrote, I'm left in awe. Indeed, a writer can create so much from her imagination.The story is titled 'Beneath the Surface'. A very interesting one.

I attended a conference last year —my first-ever conference, actually — and I marveled at how the convened was able to pull that off.

From the least of guest speakers to the number of people who graced the conference. It was astonishing.

Thinking about it now, I can say that the conference was a huge success because of the quality of networks and relationships that the convener has nurtured for a long time.

The truth is, having an extensive network allows you to maximize your potential. Just like the saying, “If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go with people”.

This statement is true because your ability to attract wealth as a brand is highly connected to how you’re able to nurture and leverage your network and relationships to take advantage of opportunities.

There are many public figures whom I admire the uniqueness of the relationships they’ve built through networking— the likes of Chinaza Favour, Fii Stephen, Okoye Ijeoma Dicta, Ma’am Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze, Ma’am Nelly Agbogu, Ma’am Nancy Nwosu, to mention a few.

What most brands don’t know is that such a relationship is more about giving than receiving. It has to do with showing up for each other when the need arises.

When building a sustainable relationship, don’t just think about being on the receiving end. Think of how you can be of value to the other person. It mustn't necessarily be financially.

Your time, energy, and attention can be of great value to the person you’re building a relationship with.

In all honesty, having people of value in your life and brand makes life a whole lot easier for you. That’s because relationships and collaborations are important for sustainable growth. That is why I will always be grateful for the connections I have built with Growth Musketeers and Events in Abuja Community.

I hope you make it a part of your goal to build meaningful networks and relationships for you and your brand this year.
