YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE

Our anchor scripture for today:
"... I will never leave you nor forsake you"
(Heb.13:5)

One of the most terrible things that happened to Jesus shortly before His death was divine abandonment. To lose divine presence is to be tormented of the devils. And the major assignment of sin is to cause a separation between us and God. The Psalmist understood the huge repercussions of divine abandonment when he prayed thus: "Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.(Psalms 51:11).

His presence makes a mess of the things that threaten us. It dwarfs our afflictions and makes them appear like nothing. Imagine how the Jews prospered with the worst kind of afflictions meted on them by that Pharaoh who did not know Joseph. Afflictions fertilize a man and a people that carry God's presence. "But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel" (Ex.1:12)

The presence of God in your life frustrates and grieves your enemies and oppressors. It does not allow them to see the ex*****on of their evil desires upon you. Did you notice that the Egyptians were grieved because of the children of Israel in the scripture above(Ex.1:12)? Today, I want you to know that the presence of God is enough to handle all the devils that stand against you, be they human or demonic. Celebrate the assured presence of God in your life.

Our quote for today:
"In the journey of destiny there is a factor that brands a man out from others; it's the presence of the Divine."

Psalms 23:1-6.

Prayer:
1. Lord, thank you for sparing me from the agony of the divine abandonment Jesus suffered on the cross.
2. May your presence freeze all my fears and make a mess of my afflictions.

THE PROMISES OF GOD ARE SURE

Our anchor scripture for today:
"Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass".
(Josh.21:45).

Trust is earned. It cannot be given in a vacuum. Every covenant is based on promises. The sustainability of such covenants is determined by the keeping of such promises. God made many promises to Israel as He entered into covenant with them. The good news is that via Abraham, every family of the earth could become beneficiaries of that covenant.

Israel went through thick and thin that made it most unlikely for those promises to be actualized. Worse still, they violated their own side of the bargain over and over. Such moral failures on Israel's part could have provided reasonable grounds of excuse for God to fail them. He kept to His word: "If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is".(2 Tim. 2:13).

Israel took a count and discovered that not one promise of God fell to the ground. They bore witness that God says what He means and means what He says. Wow! God is trustworthy, my friend. His bargains fail not. Is there any area of your life where you need a change? Today, you can locate a promise of God that covers it and hinge your faith on it. His words do not fail. Like I always say, God's cheque is as reliable as cash. Rejoice at His promises over your life.

Our quote for today:
"God’s faithfulness is the one constant in the equation. He is the Rock on which we stand".
Paul Silway

Further reading:
2 Cor.1:20.

Prayer:
1. Lord, I thank you for none of your promises over my life would fall to the ground.
2. I rest on your promises knowing that even when I fail you, you cannot fail me.

GOD IS NOT MAD AT YOU

Our anchor scripture for today:
" He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea."
(Micah 7:19).

God is love! One of the major ways He expresses His love towards us is the forgiveness of our sins. Sin is a disaster. Just imagine if there was no forgiveness of sins in God. We would all be dead without hope. The greatest joy we ought to have is that our sins are forgiven by God in Christ. Hallelujah!

Now, we must understand that the love of God does not mean that our sins do not exist, anymore. The reality is that God does not hold our sins against us, any longer. When He forgives, He forgives completely. By His divine choice, He takes our sins very far away from us. "As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us." (Psalms 103:12).

Satan's strategy against us is to use the guilt of sin to hold us down from enjoying the love of God. Sometimes, we begin to reason that our sins are responsible for any affliction that befalls us. Hey, friend! God holds no grudges. He took our sins far away from us, dumping them in the bottom of the ocean. Do not go fishing for your sins. Declare it loud that your sins are totally forgiven by God in Christ!

Our quote for today:
"Oh, hour of forgiven sin, moment of perfect pardon, our soul shall never forget you while, within you, life and being find immortality!"
Charles Spurgeon

Further reading:
Colossians 2:9-15.

Prayer:
1. Lord, I thank you for my redemption in you, even the forgiveness of my sins.
2. May I walk daily in the fullness of your love, knowing that you hold no grudges against me.

The scripture Psalm 125:3 (KJV):

“For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.”

🔥 Meaning

The verse speaks of God’s protection over the righteous. The “rod of the wicked” represents oppressive or prolonged wicked influence. The Psalm expresses confidence that God will not allow wickedness to have permanent dominion over His people, lest the righteous become pressured into doing evil.

A powerful declaration:

The rod of the wicked shall not rest upon my portion!

Every prolonged oppression is broken.

I will not be pushed into iniquity because of adversity.

My hands will not be stretched forth unto evil.

The Lord preserves my portion, my faith, and my destiny.
In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🔥🙏

Hello, are there times that you really feel that everything is slow with you? Do you, sometimes, wish that God could be faster at working out things for you? If what you desire of God requires speed of accomplishment, what force on earth can delay Him? Again, if God is not good enough for the job, who else in heaven or earth is? Today's devotional will help you understand divine process. Be super blessed!

UNDERSTANDING DIVINE PROCESS

Our anchor scripture for today:
"And the Lord thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee".
(Deut.7:22).

What God can do is limitless but what He would do per time is guided and guarded by His wisdom. To align God's acts to His eternal purpose, He passes us through a process. There are a few times that God acts instantaneously, giving us mind boggling miracles. Our testimonies go loud for everyone to hear at such times. Just imagine how the Jews felt when God divided the red sea and destroyed Pharaoh's army. Songs were composed on the spot.

The Jews may have expected that instant miracles would trail their paths from the start to the finish of their wilderness journey. As much as that would have fed their emotions, it would surely have defeated the wisdom of God. They had to learn that the God of instant wonders is also the God of little by little principle. God, by His love, promised to drive away all their enemies for them to inherit and occupy their lands. God's wisdom ensured that it did not happen in a day.

The Jews lacked the capacity to inhabit the entire land God promised them at that point. Had God driven all their enemies in one day, wild beasts would have taken over uninhabited lands and could devour them. So, their occupation of the promised land was going to happen in batches. Friend, God loves you eternally. There is nothing He cannot do for you on the spot but His wisdom would dictate His timing. Learn not to thwart divine process. It will help you develop the capacity to carry the weight of God's load of blessings.

Our quote for today:
"When you have done all you can do, leave it alone. It's not in your control. Trust the process."
Germany Kent

Further reading:
John 11:1-15.

Prayer:
1. Lord, I yield to your wisdom that determines every season of my life.
2. Help me to develop the capacity necessary to handle the weight of the answers coming my way.

DO NOT DWARF YOURSELF

Our anchor scripture for today:
"And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight".
(Numbers 13:33).

Life is a battle. Every challenge in life is designed to intimidate you to the point where you lose your confidence in God. So, there is always a struggle between considering the size of your mountains or the integrity of God and His word. Many have lost grounds in life not because they were weak but because their confidence was eroded. Once you are bowed down in your inner man, you cannot come out tops from that battle. The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart.

One of the most annoying stories recorded in the Bible is narrated in our anchor scripture for today. Before they got to this point, great nations would hear of them and flee. Their dread was over the nations around them. Unfortunately, when they saw the sons of Anak and considered their heights, they lost all their confidence. Before these enemies, they began to see themselves as grasshoppers. How they arrived at that conclusion, only they could tell.

Contrast these guys with David who could confront lions and bears with bare hands. When Saul told him that he was unfit to fight against Goliath, he replied: "Your servant is well able". Friend, no matter what confronts you in any area of life, do not lose your confidence. That they are giants does not mean you are a dwarf. Stand tall at all times and you will cut them to size. God is on your side.

Our quote for today:
"When you have a lot of confidence and you feel like nobody can beat you, it’s game over for everyone else.”:
Jason Day

Further reading;
Hebrews 10:35-37.

Prayers:
1. Lord, I refuse to be dwarfed in any area of life by my perception.
2. I am well able to confront the things that come my way.

REFUSE TO BE SHAKEN

Our anchor scripture for today:
"Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved".
(Psalms 62:1-2)

Think about the world we live in, today. There are troubles on every side. One thing that defines the world presently is uncertainty. Yes! Nobody knows what will happen next. Abnormalities have become so normal that having an expectation that things would ever be normal again is deceptive. Death has become so cheap that even with all our technological advancements, life expectancy is on a steady decline.

Men are terribly shaken, world over. Depression, violence, pandemics, natural disasters, accidents of all kinds flood our news headlines. We listen up to hear the number of casualties, as if death is now a game of numbers. Young men are stuck in drug abuse. Sexual perversions thrive. The happier the world wants to become by uprooting every trace of morality, the more people commit su***de. Rebellion against God and His standards for living are at the root of our confusion. Refusing to do what God says is our undoing.

The world needs a saviour but rejects the one God sent. The ones who believe in the saviour God sent are hated and tortured, daily. They hate Him and also hate them. In the midst of all these, the psalmist finds refuge in God, saying:"He is my defence, I shall not be shaken" Beloved, find a refuge in God. Let Him be your shelter in stormy weather. That way, you can, like the psalmist, be at your best, even at the worst of times. The world will not get better but finding refuge in God is better

Our quote for today:
"Serenity isn't the peace away from the storm, it's the peace at the eye of the storm".
Ed Martin Cruz

Further reading:
John 14:25-27.

Prayer:
1.Lord, may I find daily in you rest for my soul.
2. My heart will not be shaken, no matter what confronts me.
