Ai- Driven Auditing: Kogi to Host 30th Conference of Auditors-General for Local Governments

Kogi State is set to host the 30th Conference of the Auditor-General for Local Government, scheduled to take place from August 10 to 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Lokoja.
The landmark conference, which is to be hosted by the Auditor-General for Local Government, Kogi State, Hon. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege FCNA, will bring together key stakeholders in public-sector auditing and local government administration.
With the theme, โRepositioning Auditor-General for Governance Excellence in the Artificial Intelligence toward Global Best Practices in the Local Government Audit,โ the conference is expected to provide a strategic platform for critical discussions on the evolving role of technology in public-sector accountability.
It will particularly explore how artificial intelligence can strengthen auditing processes, promote transparency, improve efficiency and enhance governance at the grassroots.
The conference will be held under the distinguished Chief Host, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo (FCA), Governor of Kogi State, whose administration has continued to emphasise accountability, institutional efficiency and improved service delivery.
