I'll never forget Lopez.

He saw my Meta ad. Probably just scrolling through Facebook.
Clicked. Bought ₦5000 of Capcut Pro access.
That's it. One transaction.

But here's what happened next: Lopez became my best evangelist.
This undergraduate didn't just buy once. He kept buying. And kept buying. Hundreds of thousands in revenue.

But more important than that—he started referring his friends.
He'd tell people: "Yo, Obaseki's products actually work. Get access."

His friends would come. Some would buy. Some would refer more people.
Then Lopez went even further. He took my WhatsApp group link and shared it in another community he belonged to.

Suddenly, new customers were coming from Lopez's network.
All because he trusted me.
And here's the crazy part: I wasn't the cheapest option out there.

People may be able get similar products cheaper. But they didn't.
They bought from me because Lopez vouched for me.
Because he trusted me.

And when you have trust? Price becomes irrelevant.
Most sellers are obsessed with having the lowest price.

"If I charge less, I'll get more customers."

Wrong.

Lopez proved that I could charge fair prices, and people would still buy—and refer—because trust was the real currency.
Not money. Trust.

I learned: A customer who trusts you is worth 10 customers who only care about price.
Lopez showed me that.
And now that's how I build everything.

Trust first. Price second.

I made one of the biggest mistakes ever!.

When I started Alexia Digitals in February 2025, my ads were working so well that I got cocky.
Every day: ₦3,500 spend, ₦6,500 revenue on Day 1. Then ₦50-70k daily by month 3.

I felt invincible.

So I only focused on one thing: Getting new customers through Meta ads.
I didn't build a customer list. No email. No WhatsApp community with repeat customers.

No backup.

I was entirely dependent on Meta working perfectly.

Then September 2025 hit.

Meta Andromeda changed everything overnight. My ads stopped working. CPR skyrocketed. Conversions crashed.
From ₦70k daily to... struggling.

And I realized: I had no safety net.
All those customers from the previous months? I didn't have their numbers. I didn't have their emails. I didn't have a way to reach them without ads.

I spent 6+ months trying to fix the ads, taking courses, watching YouTube, trying everything.
It was brutal.

That's when I learned the real lesson: Your customer list is more valuable than any algorithm.

If I had built a WhatsApp community of just 500 people, like I'm doing now, September wouldn't have been a disaster.
Instead, I would've messaged: "Hey, new product!" And made ₦1m that month.
But I didn't have that.

So here's what I'm telling you: Whatever business you're building, whether it's ads, TikTok, Instagram, or anything else—

Build your own customer list immediately.
Not later. Now.
Because algorithms change. Platforms fail. But your customer list? That's yours forever.
