When people tell me they are saving to pay tuition for PhD studies or are currently studying for PhD in Universities where Tuition is paid, two things come to my mind;
- It is either they don't understand the significance of a PhD work or they don't have information on the numerous free PhD programme that abound all over the world.
In Nigeria and most African societies, where the import of PhD is not yet appreciated, Universities still charge tuition fees for PhD programs. But in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, China, Finland, and most of Europe, PhD studies are free, with a stipend paid to the student.
