YOUR GOVERNMENT HATES YOU!

Over a year ago, the country was deep in a pandemic amidst other situations, the End Sars protest, food inflation, insecurity and all.

A whole lot happened, things went worse for some and on the other hand it was a turning point for others. Life no balance!😕

During one of their reports, the National Bureau of Statistics(NBS) stated that around 20% of workers in Nigeria lost their job as a result of COVID-19.

This report was based on in-depth interviews with businesses across the formal and informal sectors across major industries of the economy

This was a result of the reduced revenue, liquidity challenge, increased operational cost and other factors.

The situation is not even getting better, it is getting worse

People would keep losing their jobs,

Unemployment has always been increasing,

The poverty level is getting higher,

The country's debt keeps increasing on a daily,

And we are not producing anything.

The question now is:

What would you do if you lose your job today?

If you get a decrease in your salary amidst the high cost of living what would you do?

This brings us to the fact that every individual, every individual should have a side hustle.

You might decide to say, I'm a student and I don't have a job so all these dosen't affect me.

If your parent loses their job today, would your education continue?

This shows that nobody, absolutely nobody is left out. The earlier we accept the fact that we need an income stream as a student or an extra income stream as a worker the better.

Sincerely, you don't need a great business plan to start something on the side.

You don't need a high level of expertise,

You don't need to be a guru,

You don't need to create your own products..

You might then be wondering, what exactly do I need?

Take a chill pill, I'd walk you through the process,

But before then, keep reading!

Earlier this year, a friend introduced an online business to me.

You know for a fact that Nigerians are scared of anything online, so I waved him off and said I was not interested.

A few months after, things became harder and I started to think of how to increase my income. I remembered a friend shared something with me and I decided to do research myself.

Deep in my research, I found out how true this business model is, and how it is what most big business are doing and for a fact that I do not need something as extra big to start.

I outsourced for the startup capital and I got started. I sure can tell that this is one of the best decisions I have made my entire life.

You might be wondering what exactly is this online business?

It is not even as complex or rigid as you may have been thinking, in fact, it is something you have been doing your whole life.

It doesn't require you to create your products, all you need do is to recommend an existing product to someone who needs it...

I can say for sure that this is something you have been doing all the time.

It can be as little as telling a friend to buy something from a store

Or

Recommending a site for a friend to download a movie or music from.

You have been an Affiliate to that store and that site, but you have not been getting paid for your service. It is not even your fault.

Say no more!! That won't happen again, if only you take action after reading this.

This is something anybody with a phone and internet connection can start up.

YOU ARE A MARKETER!

Yeah! You read that right. Maybe not as a profession. Subconsciously, you have been marketing.

You may tend to disagree but I would explain.

As a little as recommending a blog or site to download music for your friends and family is affiliate marketing.

You might have probably agreed that you're a marketer now. Agreed? I don't even need you to😂

All you did is link up a merchant and a buyer (friend or family) together.

Truth be told, that is simply the work of an Affiliate marketer. Not anything rigid.

Over a couple of years, there has been a search interest increase in affiliate marketing.

According to Google trends, between 2016 and 2021 the search interest is up over 150%.

As people tend to spend more time online, they have looked for alternative income streams, giving rise to this search.

Affirmatively, a lot of people have taken up affiliate marketing either as a side hustle or even a full-time online business.

These people do the same thing you do; link up a buyer and a seller and they have increased their income over time.

You might also want to take this up and make your subconscious effort fetch you money.

TWO SIMPLE WAYS TO BUILD PASSIVE INCOME

Probably you don't understand what passive income means?

Passive income is the money you generate with little active involvement.

This could involve cash flow from rental services, dividend stocks, sales of products etc.

This is a long term offer. Passive income has always been important.

But it is dawning on us now. It is more like a necessity.

Except, you want to grow old and still want to wander around the street to hustle for daily bread.

However, building a passive income is not a get rich quick system. But it is a way of increasing your returns with a diminishing work input over time.

If you are willing to commit your time, skills and money towards building passive income and in all likelihood enjoy early retirement.

Here are 2 things you could do:

1. Create a digital product: Writing an e-book or creating an online course is an example of a passive income stream. All you need to do is to write or create once!

Spending your time writing or creating a digital product in a field in which you can share your specialised knowledge is a goldmine.

However, you might need to trade your TIME, KNOWLEDGE and MONEY to sell a very good product.

But even while you're asleep your income flows.

2. Become an Affiliate: This is simply promoting the product of another person or company in exchange for a commission on resulting sales.

Just link up a merchant and a consumer!

If all measures are set up properly, while you're doing other things. Your promotion goes on and you get your income off other people's products.

You can tell that this is quite more easy than creating a digital product. You need not stress over putting in the best expertise in creating a product.

All you need to promote an existing product. Simple!

THE EFFECT: STORYTELLING!

Even as the headline applies, you might assume this is gonna be a long read! Maybe or maybe not!

I'm gonna try to keep this short as much as I can.

Over the couple of weeks, I've observed that storytelling is very important aspect of marketing. It is usually an effective way to hook your audience.

I suppose this is almost a known fact for a marketers. The power of Storytelling cannot be overemphasised. Everyone should be able to tell stories in a way that it connects to the audience and easily transition from one element to another.

Even in religious gatherings, maybe during prayers or advices sort of. Storytelling is often used to disseminate information to the congregation.

During a church service I attended sometimes ago, the pastor lead a prayer and as it was on-going, he decided pause the prayer and told a story that associates with the prayer and the congregation connected with it instantly.

The prayer resumed and there was a change in the way people prayed.

I was praying too ooh😂 but I noticed the intensity was much stronger and the atmosphere was fire.

I knew at that moment the effect of storytelling.

If we take a deep look at this thing, we would notice it is applicable in our everyday lives even asides marketing. Once we are able to connect or relate to something through stories it has a great effect on our actions.

WHY IS AFFILIATE MARKETING THE BEST ONLINE BUSINESS?

Well, there are different forms of marketing which can profitable if ventured into. But I will tell you why Affiliate marketing is the best.

I'm gonna talk about Network, Information and Affiliate Marketing.

There are differences to these forms of marketing and I would be explaining them in a bit.

But I want you to know that any online business you decide to venture into would require a reasonable amount of work and consistency. You wanna milk the Internet's money?? Be ready to put in efforts.

Back to why and why you're reading this piece, I would make sure I make it as simple and relatable as I can.

I'm gonna start from Network Marketing:

• It is also called Multi-level marketing. This is business model that relies on a network of distributors to grow a business. It works like a chain-system where you have to build a whole team e.g bring two people and they also bring another two each and they also bring another two each and the chain continues like that.
• N.B: For a Network Marketing scheme to be legit, there has to be a product attached. It can be a Physical Product. I'm sure you have come across some schemes multi level marketing schemes that have not products attached and we all know how it ended.

Now on to Information Marketing:

• This is also another great business model. It is process of creating, promoting and selling digital products which helps to solve a common problem within a specific niche.
• For Information marketing to be successful, you have to pick a core market, find a specific niche, identify a common problem, come up with a sellable solution and sell to an hungry set of people as Benson Taofeek would always say.
• As easy as this sounds, it requires a great deal of work.

Now onto the final and what I suppose to be the best, affiliate marketing:
• Affiliate marketing is the practice of promoting the products or services of another person or company in exchange for a commission on the resulting sale.
• In simple terms, it means selling other people's product and getting paid a commission for it.
Now to why affiliate marketing is the best online business:

• Affiliate Marketing doesn't require you to bring one or two persons into the business or so before you start earning like network marketing requires.

• It also doesn't require you to through the stress of creating your own digital products yourself. All you need do is to link a buyer and a seller together.

Funny enough this is what most profitable companies like Amazon, Uber, Netflix do. They just create a bridge between the Merchants and Consumers.

I can go on and on to give you reasons why affiliate marketing is the best online business but because of the length of this piece, I'm going to stop here.

TALK ABOUT IT!

In a world full of negative and destructive criticism, most people tend to keep their opinions to themselves because of the fear of being criticised.

I was once in these shoes and I cannot say this was how I grew out of that fear. But I did not know one thing.

I started TALKING!

I don't think I'm fully out of that fear, maybe or maybe not. But I have started talking.

Before then, I would write about a 50-word response to a certain issue and all of a sudden the backspace on my keyboard does the rest of the work. I was afraid of what people would say.

At some point, I felt I had an entitlement to my opinion and it is not necessary I'm right before I share my opinion on something. We learn everyday na. It was at that point I started to grow out of that fear.

And don't because you have a right to your opinion then start spewing rubbish oo. Weigh your responses, you don't have to right. LEARN!

Russell Brunson said in one of his books;

'As much as we hate to admit, we are all slaves to what we believe others will think about us'

This is true, but we won't admit. I won't admit either😂

JUST READ‼️🚩

A lot of people frown at broadcast messages on the messenger app (WhatsApp). Truth be told, a large number of people who send broadcast messages just spam with nonsense (all these repost stuffs, referral contest, beauty contest and all)

But they were these two guys who always shared broadcast messages with me and others. I noticed that I fell in love with their messages and always looked forward to receiving one everyday.

These guys sent them every freaking day and each time I do not get to receive their messages I always feel the void.

I decided to check out what made me interested in their messages, abi na juju😂. Nooo, na juju.

The juju was that they were constantly pushing out value, premium content, stuffs people would charge for, bonuses and resources that would help. So, they were constantly in our minds.

I noticed it was not only the value they were pushing out that connected us together. Not only me but a lot of people seemed engrossed in their messages. They were adding something to the juju😂

What?? Storytelling👻

For almost all their contents, there was a story attached or inserted that everyone could literally connect with it. It was goldmine.

Everybody should know how to do this. It brings builds a connection with the audience.

I don dey go learn ham sha.

P.S: Those guys weren't selling anything. But they already built the trust with the audience. They know what the audience wants know. And once they pitch the product they want to sell?? Boom💥 They would buy.

DEVELOP A GROWTH MINDSET✔💠

I'm not here to motivate you or something, even me sef dey find motivation😂

Let me say what I've to say and go back to my Nook make I go think about my life.

The first step, hmm🤔 probably not first step but important (I don't even know the first step) aspect to success is having a positive mindset.

It is just a form of thinking that allows your subconscious mind into believing that you're capable of the success you wish.

Ohhh... I forgot to wish you a Happy New MONTH! Well, that's it. Take it or leave it.

I woke up in the early hours of this morning with my heavy eyes( didn't get enough sleep) staggering. I had to attend a church programme by 6am being the first day of the month. God first!

I came back from church and the first notification I saw was from Google tasks. Yeah, I wrote a couple of things down there to help me attain the success I wish for.

Daily and weekly goals included, it's a new month and I'm adding more. Ain't sleeping no more, I'm crushing them with the right mindset.

You can decide to join me by listing out what you want for the month and how to achieve it. Work ruthlessly towards, with your mindset constantly pushing you to do more. You'd be glad you did so.

Maybe or maybe not! It is a choice after all.

Stay demotivated!

P.S: I just had my first meal of the month and I'm going back to my Nook.

DO IT FREE!

There's always this belief system that when you do things for FREE you tend to devalue YOURSELF. In some situations, this is not always true.

Sometimes, offering free service or products can be a way to get your ideal customer. But there are some certain things you need to understand before you offer free service or product.

I would try to make this as simple as I can...

•Know your Ideal Audience.

You don't want to offer free service to just anybody, you need to offer it to someone who needs it. Let me give a practical example:

As a Copywriter, you'd find who to serve by making a statement of what you do. It can be as simple as:

~'I'm going to help small businesses solve the issue of sales'

You find a small business, look for the problem associated with the business then pitch yourself to the business owner to help solve the problem for FREE.

This way you'd work to get results, capture testimonials and use it to attract and convert your dream client. You would even get referrals or recommendations.

It all comes down to knowing who to serve.

If you intend to sell a course or digital product. It is still the same process.

Have a picture of who you intend to sell to by making a simple statement.

~I am going to teach crypto enthusiasts how to make money from cryptocurrency.

After identifying this set of people, pitch to them and offer a FREE class teaching all that is in your course or product. I know this may sound absurd but it is good way to get results.

Your FREE class would serve as a curriculum of people who will be paying you soon. Teach everything in your course or product as if they paid for it.

From this class:

*Ask what they want, give it to them.
*Run a survey of improvements, use the results of the survey as bullet points to your products
*As always Get results, Capture testimonials, use survey results to improve products

This way you're getting your social proof and these things would help you sell a better product and even make more sales from you product.

Fearful or Fearless?

Over the couple of months, I've come to the realisation that one of the major hindrances to growth is INDECISION.

According to research, FEAR has been recognized as a significant contributor to indecision

To conquer fear, you have weigh the situations, evaluate the outcomes, avoid overthinking and take action. FEAR being a contributor to indecision continues to increase as long as you do not take ACTION.

Dale Carnegie said in one of his books and I quote: 'Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy'

It is actually normal to fear, we are all human of course but allowing it to get the better of you is bad.
Most humans are ATELOPHOBIC, that's the fear of doing the wrong thing. In other to avoid mistakes, people with this phobia prefers doing nothing rather than doing something with a mistake.

In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing you can do is the wrong thing and the worst thing is nothing - Theodore Roosevelt.

Over the couple of months, a lot individuals come to me with a lot of misconceptions about Affiliate Marketing. And I would be wondering where do these people get their information from😂 abi no be the say Affiliate Marketing wey I sabi ni.

I've taken it upon myself to address these wrong beliefs. To start with:

•'You need strong network to get started'

Truth be told, having a strong network of audience increases the odds of an affiliate business success. However, you don't need to have these strong connections from the very beginning. You can always build it over time and Here's how:

▪︎Choose a Profitable (Yet enjoyable) Niche.
▪︎Choose a Product you know about.
▪︎Know your Target Audience and their Pain points.

All these things not as complex as it sounds, you'd surely find it fun when you get started.

•You need a lot of time to get involved in Affiliate Marketing.

A lot of Affiliate Marketers I know have other things they venture in and they do not dedicate all day to Affiliate Marketing.

All you need to do is dedicate few hours daily to do certain things and you're on your way to be a successful Affiliate Marketer.

•It’s a Get Rich Quick Scheme

It is one of the biggest myths of all.

They think that it's an overnight success.

Affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick scheme. Of course, there is money to be made, but earning a full-time income could take time.

I could go on and on to demystify those misconceptions but I can't say it all.
