Let’s talk about the link between "nylon," microplastics, and cancer.

Watch my new video to see how a simple daily habit, like packaging hot fufu, chips, or bread in plastic bags, connects to a much bigger environmental and health crisis.

When we put hot food into plastic, dangerous chemicals leach right into what we eat. But the problem doesn't stop there. Because of poor waste management, those same plastics end up in our gutters, rivers, and oceans, breaking down into tiny microplastics.

Fish swallow these particles, and eventually, that plastic ends up back on our dinner plates. Inside the human body, these toxins cause inflammation and cell damage that can lead to cancer over time.

It is a dangerous cycle, but we can break it by:

Allowing food to cool before wrapping it, or using safe alternatives like leaves.

Properly disposing of our waste instead of littering or burning plastics.

Supporting better waste management in our neighborhoods.

As a safety officer, training construction workers on the ABC of CPR is one of the most critical parts of a site induction or first aid course.

This responsibility is underscored by the fact, my opinion anyways, that every safety professional working on a development project is expected to have basic first aid training so that the individual can help in the event of a health/medical emergency.
In a high-risk environment like construction, where electrical shocks, falls, or crush injuries can occur, minutes matter.

While many people believe CPR is simply about the " kiss of life," as a safety professional, the goal is to share the real "ABC" essentials that every construction worker should know: Airway, Breathing, and Circulation.

Pre-Audit Office Facility Checklist 🏢

​Before the auditors arrive, ensure your physical workspace reflects your HSE standards. Start by designating a clean Document Control Center where all manuals and records are organized and ready for review.

​The facility itself should "speak" safety: ensure the HSE Policy is prominently displayed, Emergency Exit maps are clear, and Fire Extinguishers are serviced and unobstructed. Finally, maintain top-tier housekeeping—clear walkways of tripping hazards and ensure waste segregation bins are properly labeled. A well-prepared facility proves that your management system isn't just on paper—it’s in practice. 🛡️
