Benue State Launches Tech Skills Program for Youths_
_Governor Alia and Engr. Udende Partner with Microsoft, Google, and Coursera to Equip Youths with In-Demand Tech Skills_
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has launched the Benue Tech support Skills for Jobs Program, a landmark initiative aimed at equipping youths in the state with in-demand tech skills. The program, implemented in partnership with Engr. Jeff Udende, a renowned tech expert, and leading tech companies Microsoft, Google, and Coursera, aims to train 10,000 youths in software development, data analysis, digital marketing, and cybersecurity.
The launch ceremony, held at the Benue State University, Medical School Main Auditorium brought together stakeholders from the tech industry, government officials, and youths from across the state. Governor Alia emphasized the importance of tech skills in today's digital economy and his administration's commitment to empowering youths for employment and entrepreneurship.
"We are thrilled to partner with Microsoft, Google, and Coursera to provide our youths with world-class training and certification," Governor Alia said. "This program will bridge the skills gap in our state and prepare our youths for success in the tech industry."
Engr. Udende, who is also the program's Director, highlighted the program's objectives and the opportunities it presents for participants. "With the support of our partners, we will provide hands-on training, internship experience, and mentorship. Our goal is to produce tech professionals who can drive innovation and growth in Benue State's tech industry," Engr. Udende explained.
The Benue Tech Skills for Jobs Program includes:
- Training: 6 months of intensive training in software development, data analysis, digital marketing, and cybersecurity, leveraging Microsoft's Professional Program, Google's Cloud Computing Certification, and Coursera's Specializations.
- Internship: 3 months of internship with tech companies and organiza
