TOPIC: THE DEVIL WILL RUN AWAY FROM YOU!
So, give yourselves to God, stand against the devil, and he will run away from you.
James 4:7 (ERV)
Permit me to say that God reduces the devil that so many people/christians are afraid of as a "runaway civilian"

To stand against the devil so he run away from you, begins with giving yourself to God otherwise you end up like the proverbial sons of sceva in Acts 19:14-16. They were naked and wounded - this is the states of many christians today because they lacked divine backing from Heaven. To be naked means to be stripe of your glory, honour and dignity as a child of God, which are parts of your redemptive packages.

To be wounded means to be defeated, it means to be void of divine backing because God cannot be backing you and the devil wound you. It means to become a CASUALTY in the battle of life, Jesus was never a casualty, you and I also cannot become a casualty in the battle of destiny against the one the bible described as a run away civilian.

The secret of Jesus successful ministry before He went to be with the father was divine backing. Acts 10:38 say
He went about doing good healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.

You can't successfully stand against the devil and he run away from you without first giving yourself to God, John 15:5 says without me you can do nothing and until you give yourself to God He can't back you up, until God backs you up, Satan or the devil cannot run away from you.

God's backing, God's presence is a spiritual force of resistance against the devil and his cohorts.

God's presence is a spiritual insecticides used to spray and flush the devil away from your environment.

Remember, without His presence, you can't successfully stand against the devil, and to stand against the devil, you must give yourself to God.

WHAT TO DO TO STAND AGAINST THE DEVIL.

1. Give yourself to God. To give yourself to God implies that you subscribe to the Lordship of Jesus. It means to be genuinely born again. For the bible says in John 1:12, as many as received Him to them He gave power to become the sons of God. It begins with identifying with Jesus so you can have an identity both in heaven an on earth.

Until you are identified by Heaven as a son/daughter/family member/fellow citizens, you have not truly certified what qualifies you to stand against the devil.

2. To stand against the devil, be a lover of God above everything else. One of the prove that you are a lover of God is that you are a keeper not breaker of His commandments.

You can't love God and not keep His commandments. To keep His commandments also implies practical obedient to all the detects of the scripture. John 14:15

Jesus was an embodiment of the father's love, and He keeps all the father's commandments.
And He expects you and I to follow His examples and footsteps.

John 13:15 says For I have given you an example that you should do as I have done to you.

Anyone who loves God and keeps His commandments automatically carries God. For in 1 John 4:8 the bible says God is love. To carry God means that God's presence will become RESIDENTIAL in your life and it will be EVIDENTIAL in your ministry and all your endeavors.

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:21&23.

Can you now see that it is possible for Satan to run away from you? Just give yourself to God, stand against the devil and he will run away from you without struggle. Remain Blessed!

*Luke 10:42 -* ```"But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."```

𝕄𝕆𝕋𝕀𝕍𝔸𝕋𝕀𝕆ℕ𝔸𝕃 ℚ𝕌𝕆𝕋𝔼𝕊:
*Those who make God and His Kingdom their priority, will never lack God's attention and blessings.*

The lives of many believers are full of irrelevant things. They are busy doing things that will not earn them eternal value and profit due to the wrong choices and decisions that they have made. The story of Martha and Mary in Luke 10:42 affirms this observation. The two sisters had Jesus as a guest in their home. Each made a choice and was preoccupied with something in a bid to please their guest, Jesus Christ. The Lord said, "Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things.

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her (Luke 10:41-42). Martha was busy and preoccupied with preparing food and drink to entertain Jesus. She also complained to Jesus that her sister, Mary, left her all alone to prepare food and do the household chores while she sat at Jesus feet, listening to His word and learning. Jesus commended what Mary was doing and called it the "one thing" that is needful as well as more rewarding.

Beloved, there are important lessons to learn from this story. First, the Lord wants us to prioritise spiritual things and rate them above physical ones. The spiritual is the mother of the physical.

Today, many believers are so busy with career, business and chasing money that they have abandoned activities that are pertinent for their spiritual growth and development: Quiet Time or Bible study, fasting, prayer, evangelism and giving, among others.

You are counselled to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. The issue of your salvation or redemption should be paramount to you because the world passes away and the vanities in it.

Mary chose the good part! By her choice, she was saying, like the Psalmist that God is her portion forever (Psalm 73:26). She chose His word, the Source of salvation, eternal life and other innumerable spiritual blessings above all else. She chose faith, love and hope. She chose Jesus Christ! counsel you to do the same.

The mundane things can be taken away from anyone. They are ephemeral and not eternal. Their reward will not extend beyond this world. When you choose Jesus Christ, no one shall pluck you out of His hand nor take your Kingdom inheritance from you.

1. Father, help me to get my priorities right always, in the name of Jesus.

2. O Lord, give me a thirst and hunger for Your word and presence, in the name of Jesus.

3. Anything in the world that is assigned to take my gaze and attention away from the Lord, die now, in the name of Jesus.

4. I refuse to be busy doing nothing and I refuse to engage in unprofitable activities, in the name of Jesus.

5. I declare that Jesus is my portion forever, in the name of Jesus.

6. I shall not place mundane things above spiritual things, in the name of Jesus.

7. I appropriate the fullness of joy and pleasure that are in God's presence, in the name of Jesus.

*1 Peter 5:8 -* ```"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."```

𝕄𝕆𝕋𝕀𝕍𝔸𝕋𝕀𝕆ℕ𝔸𝕃 ℚ𝕌𝕆𝕋𝔼𝕊:
*There is no battle that prayer cannot dismantle. As a genuine Christian, be armed with the weapon of prayer at all times.

Beloved, having come this far over many days on this subject of the complete armour of God, it is important to emphasise the last but very crucial action that must be taken. This is, praying all kinds of prayers as stated in scriptures. It is crucial that in putting on the whole armour, your readiness for battle is incomplete when prayers are not included.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 enjoins us to pray without ceasing while Luke 18:1 implores us to pray without fainting and without being weary. This goes therefore to say that a completely armoured Christian should also be a fervent prayer warrior. Prayer is the weapon of a believer in Christ to access the throne of God and ask for grace and mercy in His presence, to overrule contrary verdicts, surmount situations, open doors and bring revolutionary changes to our lives and situations. Philippians 4:6 equally counsels us that"..... with prayers and supplications and thanksgiving, make your request known to God....."

This is what 2 Corinthians10: 3-5 refers to as our weapons of war as not carnal but mighty through God to pull down strongholds, destroy and bring into surrender every force of darkness to the obedience of God. Beloved, as a soldier of Christ, you must know how to pray different kinds of prayers persistently.

I implore you, fellow believer in Christ, to do a critical review of your stand as a true soldier of Christ. Are you really qualified? Has anything gone wrong with your faith level; how about your word power? Are you living a holy and righteous life? Are you led by the Truth or have gone astray into deception or the error of Balaam? You cannot sit on the fence. You are either well enlisted in the Lord's army or you are not. God counts on you. It is never too late for you to make amends so that when you would have wrestled with these satanic powers, you will stand victorious and not fall, in Jesus' name.

Wise soldiers are not just well prepared but equally watchful so that the enemy does not take undue advantage of them. Fellow soldier of Christ, be sober, be vigilant! Watch and pray always!

*ℙℝ𝔸𝕐𝔼ℝ ℙ𝕆𝕀ℕ𝕋𝕊:*

1. O God, arise and make me a prayer machine, in the name of Jesus.

2. I refuse to faint in the place of prayer, in the name of Jesus.

3. O Lord, help me to pray appropriate prayers for appropriate situations, in the name of Jesus.

4. Father Lord, increase my prayer power, in the name of Jesus.

5. Whatever is assigned to kill my prayer fire, die now, in the name of Jesus.

6. I receive fresh power to pray prayers that bring awesome results, by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

7. Armoury of darkness assigned to war against me, catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

𝕄𝕆𝕋𝕀𝕍𝔸𝕋𝕀𝕆ℕ𝔸𝕃 ℚ𝕌𝕆𝕋𝔼𝕊:
*Without undiluted and steadfast faith, you cannot war a good warfare.*

*𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝔼𝕊𝕊𝔸𝔾𝔼:*
Another piece of the armour is the shield, usually held on the left hand of the soldier. Our shield as Christians is made of faith in God through Christ Jesus. This is why the Bible calls it the shield of faith.

It is important because we need it for our self-defence against the fiery darts of the enemy. The enemy wants to weaken our faith through many evil tactics such as worry, anxiety, fear, doubt, unbelief and many others. He is often throwing invisible darts to weary our minds through constant harassment, provocation and frustration, with the ultimate aim of shipwrecking our salvation. Remember, the Bible has warned us against being ignorant of his devices.

Rather, we should decide to live by faith and not by sight. The things we see are temporary; we should decide to stand and defend our faith in God through Christ Jesus. We should not be dismayed but stand strong in the Lord!

Is your faith in God strong enough to deliver you on the battle field of life? Are you easily given to fear? Your faith must be well-rooted in Christ and steadfast too. The Bible declares that the just shall live by faith. Without faith, it is written that no man can please God.

Therefore, it is important that you have the faith that clings to God and is able to deliver you at all times. Your strength notwithstanding, a faithless warrior is a prey for the adversary. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love, power and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Faith is one major ingredient of living a victorious life. All the saints of God moved in faith when they were confronted with the deadliest situations and outright impossibilities. We read about the children of Israel before the Red Sea; David versus Goliath; Daniel in the lions' den, even king Jehoshaphat and the children of Judah in 2 Chronicles 20.

All these and many more biblical instances got their victories through faith in God, who fought their battles in a miraculous way.

This faith may be tested through trials, but by holding on to Christ, we are more than conquerors. With the shield of faith, your victory is certain in the name of Jesus.

1. Father Lord, increase my faith in You, in the name of Jesus.
2. O Lord of Hosts, dress me up for battle and make me victorious, in the name of Jesus.

3. Powers assigned to weaken my faith, lose your grip and die, in the name of Jesus.

4. Every fiery dart of the wicked fired at me backfire by fire, in the name of Jesus.

5. Faith of the overcomer in Christ, possess me now, in the name of Jesus.

6. With my shield of faith, my life remains impenetrable from every bullet of darkness, in the name of Jesus.

7. O God, arise and make me a conqueror indeed over the battles of life, in the name of Jesus.

*Proverbs 23:23 -* ```"Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding."```

𝕄𝕆𝕋𝕀𝕍𝔸𝕋𝕀𝕆ℕ𝔸𝕃 ℚ𝕌𝕆𝕋𝔼𝕊:
*Nothing can be done against the truth. No matter how long it is covered, it will surely speak.

Still on the complete armour of God, we are instructed to guide our loins with the Belt of Truth. This is the piece of armour that keeps our dressing as soldiers firm and in place like physical soldiers. Remember, that the devil is a liar, and the father of lies. How can someone claim to be a Christian, yet operate in the jurisdiction of satan, the liar himself. Such a person is already a failure even before venturing into battle.

A house divided against itself shall not stand. It takes the Truth to debunk all lies and put the liar to flight. All the enemies of our soul listed in verse 12: "principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places", are all satan's cohorts; and the only way to outwit them is by allowing the Truth of God's word to be revealed, according to John 8: 32, 36.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one gets to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). It becomes necessary, therefore, that you know the Truth and live accordingly, if you must be a winner on the battlefield of life. Satan has come to kill, to steal and to destroy, but Jesus has come to give abundant life. A liar would easily fall prey to the devil. But when you are standing on the Truth and living a life worthy of Him, you will remain a conqueror in the battles of life.

Do not be deceived neither embrace overconfidence. The Bible warns that anyone who thinks he stands should take heed lest he falls. Some, even among the early Christians, became prey to the lies of the devil. Remember Ananias and Sapphira? They were a Christian couple who thought they could deceive the Holy Spirit. In Acts chapter 5, they connived to keep back some money in deception from the sale of their land. Rather than tell the truth to Apostle Peter, they told lies in compromise and both fell down and died without remedy. The same would happen to any supposed child of God who is still living in lies.

*ℙℝ𝔸𝕐𝔼ℝ ℙ𝕆𝕀NTS

1. Every orchestrated lie of the devil, be exposed and frustrated, in the name of Jesus.

2. O Lord, help me stand for the Truth and the Truth alone, in the name of Jesus.

3. Spirit of negative compromise, die in my life, in the name of Jesus.

4. Satanic deception assigned to pull me down, fail woefully, in the name of Jesus.

5. Let the Truth of Your word, O Lord, uphold and guide me all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus.

6. At the manifestation of divine truth, no lies shall prosper in my life, in the name of Jesus.

7. Father Lord, establish me in the Truth of Your Word, which is able to deliver and keep me, in the name of Jesus.

*2 Timothy 2:3 -* ```"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."```

𝕄𝕆𝕋𝕀𝕍𝔸𝕋𝕀𝕆ℕ𝔸𝕃 ℚ𝕌𝕆𝕋𝔼𝕊:
*It is spiritual disaster when a Christian engages in warfare against satan and his cohorts without the complete armour.*

The Bible makes it clear in verse 12 of today's Fire Scripture that we are on the battlefield as Christians: "For we wrestle not against flesh....." More importantly, and on a serious note, our wrestling is not seen powers and entities, but against unseen spiritual powers. In all, we need to be battle ready, not just for a period, but at all times. Apostle Paul implored Timothy to "endure hardness as a soldier of Christ" as written in our memory verse.

We cannot afford to confront these enemies with ordinary physical strength. Rather, we should go in the might and power of the Most High God, if we must be victorious: "Finally be strong in the Lord..... put on the whole armour....so that you can stand against the wiles of the devil" (verses 11, 13). The Psalmist said, "Some trust in chariots, some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord.... they fell, but we stand strong" (Ps. 20:7-8).

The physical military armour is that defensive outer covering worn to protect the body; and it is often made with metal to render the opponent's bullets impenetrable. As Christians, we also have the spiritual armour, which is God's, and every Christian soldier must endeavour to put it on without fail in order to fight and win these battles.

However, to put on this whole armour, it is important that one stands in righteousness before the Lord, and remain steadfast in faith. This armour is not comparable to that of warriors like Goliath and Saul, whose weight was too heavy for David, because it was man-made. Sad enough, it could not even defend the owner (Goliath). Rather, he fell flat before David. God expects us to be clothed in His armour and be ever ready for battle against the enemies of our souls and salvation.

Beloved, you need to know the components of this whole armour of God and put them on at all times. I pray that you shall not fall a victim in the battlefield of life, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Enemies of my soul, you shall not prosper, by the power of the Almighty, in the name of Jesus.

2.Father, arise and clothe me with Your power to overcome battles against my soul, in the name of Jesus.

3. Drainer of spiritual strength, you shall not prosper in my life, in the name of Jesus.

4. I receive the power of God to stand strong in the battlefield of life, in the name of Jesus.

5. Sins that weaken, I am not your candidate, jump out of my life and die, in the name of Jesus.

6. I refuse to trust in man or in my own strength, in the name of Jesus.

7. Power to fight and remain standing and strong, come upon me, in the name of Jesus.

CHARACTER PROTECTS YOUR TALENT:
Many people with TALENT make it into the limelight, but the ones who have neglected to develop strong CHARACTER rarely stay there long.
Absence of strong character eventually topples talent. WHY? Because people cannot climb beyond the limitations of their character. Talented people are sometimes tempted to take shortcuts. Character prevents that. Talented people may feel superior and expects special privileges. Character help them to know better. Talented people are praised for what others see them build character builds what's inside them. Talented people have the potential to be difference makers, Character makes a difference in them. Talented people are often a gift to the world, character protects that gift. No one can succeed with out strong character below the surface to protect his talent and sustain him during difficult times. Character holds us steady no matter how rough the storm becomes.
What exactly comprises character?
1. Self discipline
2. Core Values
3. A sense of identity
4. Integrity
1. SELF DISCIPLINE: The ability to do what is right even when you don't feel like doing it. What we do on some great occasion will probably depend on what we already are; and what we are will be the result of previous years of self discipline- Henry Parry Liddon. The first step to strong character is conquering SELF. I will be sharing other components of Character in our next TWIDS.

TWIDS: GOD IS IN CONTROL OF THE STORM
Most of the time we believe God is in control when everything is going our way. We are getting good break. Business is up, the family is happy, the kids are making good grades, we know God is directing our steps, life is good. But having faith doesn’t exempt us from difficulties. The storms of life come to every person. We get a bad medical report, a friend betrays us, business takes a down turn. In a difficult times it’s easy to think, “God, where are you? How could you let this happen to me?
But the same God who is in control in the good times is just as in control in the tough times. God will not allow a storm unless He has a divine purpose for it. He never said He would prevent every difficulty but God did promise He would use every difficulty.
HERE IS THE KEY: God will direct the winds of the storm to blow you where He wants you to go. We see storms as being negative. Oh this is so bad, can’t believe this is happening to me. “But God uses the storm to move you from point A to point B. The wind may be strong, the circumstances may look bad, but if you will stay in FAITH, not get bitter, not start complaining, those winds will blow you to a new level of your destiny.
It might have been meant for your harm but God knows how to shift the winds instead of blowing you backward He can cause them to blow you forward where you will come out better, stronger and that storm also will move you to a place of greater blessings and great influence.
Nothing happens without God’s permission. If that storm was keeping you from your destiny, GOD would have never allowed it. If that person who left you, or that financial difficulty or that legal situation was stopping God’s plan for your life, He would have never permitted it.
The reason He did allow it was to move you one step closer to your divine destiny. Sometimes you face difficulties not because you are doing something wrong but because you are doing something right, it’s just another step on the way to your divine destiny.
