1. The law of Intentionality
Growth doesn’t just happen. You have to desire growth. You have to have a goal in mind. You have to plan towards the goal
Then you take the first step
What is your next step?
Life is a journey. Yes we can stop and rest, recuperate, recharge, but then there is the next step to take. Progress is attained one step at a time.
We can procrastinate, usually that next step is outside our comfort zone.
The opportunity for self development always lies in that next step! It’s your move.
2. The law of Awareness
You must know yourself, to grow yourself. That’s the essence of the SWOT above.
3. The law of Consistency
Motivation gets you going, discipline keeps you growing. You must be consistent with the steps you take towards your define goal or objectives. For example, if your goal is to attain a certain level of expertise in a chosen field to skill, you must be consistent in the learning, the practice and the time devoted on a daily or regular basis.
4. The law of Curiosity
Personal Growth is stimulated by asking Why?
Sometimes we’re too scared to ask questions because:-
1) we believe our question is dumb
2) we think our question is too difficult to be answered.
This is normal. But let me tell you something. We learn by asking questions. Whether they be questions we're embarrassed to ask, or questions we believe to be too complex or challenging.
There is no other way to learn and grow.
And if you need motivation to learn, what you earn is directly related to what you learn. So maybe earning (money) would spur you on to self development and self leadership
5. The law of Modelling
It’s hard to improve when you have no one but yourself to follow.
No one achieves much in life without ring coached or mentored by someone whose been where they desire to go.
So imbibe the right attitude to life and work, so that you can also be noticed and guided through life by ten right role models.
