Edo State Government Partners with SafERR Schools (World Safety Organization, Nigeria) on Landmark Statewide Safety Advocacy, Reaching 95,700+ Students, Teachers and Parents
BENIN CITY, Edo State, Nigeria – The Edo State Government, through the Ministry of Education, has partnered with SafERR Schools to successfully deliver the SafERR Schools Edo Advocacy Project 2026, a statewide school safety sensitization campaign.
The campaign, which ran from 20th May to 3rd July 2026, reached 38 schools across 19 public institutions, directly engaging 95,700+ students, teachers, and parents on safety practices, emergency preparedness, and a culture of prevention in schools.
“This partnership reflects Edo State’s commitment to protecting our children and building safer learning environments,” the Ministry of Education stated. “We commend SafERR Schools (World Safety Organization, Nigeria) for their dedication and professionalism in driving this laudable initiative.”
The project received approval from the Edo State Ministry of Education and was implemented by the SafERR Schools Edo Advocacy Project Team (from the World Safety Organization, Nigeria) alongside a wide network of stakeholders.
SafERR also extends appreciation to all School Heads and Administrators who hosted the sensitizations, and to the SafERR Global Ambassadors’ Network and SafERR Global Volunteers’ Network, as well as partners, sponsors, and supporters who have backed the movement since its inception in 2012... As a major outcome of the campaign, approval has been granted for the establishment of a Statewide SafERR Club in Edo State Public Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions— the first of its kind in
NIGERIA.
This club will serve as a continuous platform for safety education, peer advocacy, and student leadership in schools across the state.
