Dear Esteemed Committed and highly Professional Nurses and Midwives of Kebbi State,

On behalf of the leadership of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Kebbi State Council ably led by Comrade Nurse Kilani Abdulwaliyu, we warmly felicitate with all our Muslim members on the joyous occasion of Eid‑el‑Kabir.

🌍 On the first day of , ICN and World Health Organization (WHO) co-hosted an impactful side event: Strengthening Nursing Engagement in Global Health

ICN President José Luis Cobos Serrano, 1st VP Sineva Ribeiro, and CEO Howard Catton joined WHO CNO Amelia Latu Afuhaamango Tuipulotu, WHO colleagues and global nursing leaders, for powerful discussions. These reaffirmed:

🔹 Strong ICN-WHO collaboration and partnership across vital programmes and priorities
🔹 Coming together to structurally empower nurses & nurse leadership
🔹 The urgent need to protect nurses and support

On behalf of the Leadership of NANNM Kebbi State Council ably led by Comrade Nurse Kilani Abdulwaliyu, and the entire Nurses and Midwives of Kebbi State, we heartily congratulate Nurse Aisha Danjuma on her well-deserved appointment as the Acting Provost, Kebbi State College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin Kebbi.

This appointment is a clear pointer to your dedication, professionalism, competence, and overzealous commitment to the advancement of nursing education and practice in Kebbi State. Your leadership qualities, experience, and passion for excellence have continually distinguished you, and we are confident that you will continue to bring remarkable progress and transformation to the College.

We pray that Almighty God grants you abundant wisdom, courage, strength, and steadfast commitment to excel in this noble responsibility. The Kebbi State College of Nursing Sciences (KebbiCONS), Birnin Kebbi Unit Branch of NANNM, in collaboration with the Students’ Union Government (SUG), celebrated the 2026 International Nurses Week in a grand and colourful style.

The event, held in honour of the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the Mother of Modern Nursing, featured goodwill messages and activities highlighting the vital and indispensable role of nurses in healthcare delivery.

The celebration brought together student nurses, tutors, union leaders, and other key stakeholders within the health sector.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Board Chairman of KebbiCONS and veteran unionist, Comrade Nurse Mukhtar Yali Bunza; the State Chairman of NANNM, Comrade Nurse Kilani Abdulwaliyu; the State Vice Chairman, Comrade Nurse Lukman Umar Sanda; the Unit Chairman and Secretary of KebbiCONS, Comrade Nurse Musa Abdullahi Alwasa and Comrade Nurse Gaddafi Sani Wasagu; and the Unit Secretary of Federal University Teaching Hospital Birnin Kebbi, Comrade Nurse Attah B. Kashim, alongside other distinguished guests.

The celebration served as a moment of reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment to excellence in nursing practice.

On behalf of the leadership of NANNM Kebbi State Council, ably led by Comrade Nurse Kilani Abdulwaliyu, we are thrilled to join the global nursing community in celebrating International Nurses Week, marked annually to commemorate the birth of the “Lady with the Lamp,” Florence Nightingale, the revered Mother of Modern Nursing, and celebrate the sacrifice of Nurses globally.

Since the era of the Crimean War, when Florence Nightingale’s visionary leadership and compassionate care transformed hospital practice and patient outcomes, the nursing profession has continued to evolve as a cornerstone of healthcare systems worldwide.

Nurses have remained steadfast in their commitment to humanity, providing quality, evidence‑based, and compassionate care across all levels of service delivery.

Nurses serve as frontline caregivers, patient advocates, educators, researchers, leaders, and indispensable members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
