DAY 6: HOW WE SELECT QUALITY JEWELRY
At Haula, jewelry selection is never rushed and it is never based on appearance alone. A piece can be beautiful at first glance, but beauty without quality doesn’t last. That’s why we don’t choose jewelry simply because it looks nice. We choose it because it meets a standard.
Every piece goes through careful consideration, starting with finishing. We examine how smooth the edges are, how well the surface is polished, and how evenly the color is applied. Poor finishing is often the first sign that a piece won’t last.
Next, we test comfort. Jewelry should feel natural on the body, not heavy, sharp, or irritating. If it doesn’t sit well on the skin or feels uncomfortable after a short time, it doesn’t make the cut. Jewelry is meant to be worn with ease, not endured.
We also pay attention to weight. Quality jewelry usually has a balanced weight not overly light and flimsy, and not unnecessarily heavy. The weight of a piece often tells a quiet story about the materials and craftsmanship behind it.
Then come the clasps and closures. Weak clasps are one of the fastest ways jewelry gets lost or broken. We check how secure they are, how smoothly they open and close, and whether they can withstand regular use.
Finally, we consider durability. We ask important questions: Will this piece survive daily wear? Can it handle movement, light moisture, and repeated use? Does it justify its price over time?
Every piece we select must feel good on the skin and feel worth the money.
Jewelry should give confidence, not discomfort.
It should make you feel put together, not worried about fading, breaking, or irritation.
