Before concluding that this is expensive, what quantity of panels will be required to meet his daily energy need of 190 kWh, given the assumption that 40,000 Naira translates to 190 kWh at a rate of 210 Naira per unit, utilizing 600 W panels and an average of 4 sun hours?

Testing this battery after recharging from like 4 V. I built the battery some years back. It developed fault, but my client kept it to himself until I found out myself. I will update you with the voltage level by tomorrow morning. Watch out... fans

As we've earlier stated, series connection increases voltage while current remain constant. Why the need for it? Fundamentally, higher voltage source charges lower one, so, a voltage higher than that of the battery is needed from the solar panel. For example, a panel with Vmp of 18 V will charge a 12 V battery through a charge controller thst convert the 18 V to 15 V maximum. However, 18 V panel can't charge a 24 V battery so, a higher panel voltage of like 36 V will be needed. There are 2 options available here: either look for a panel with 36 V or you combine 2 pieces of 18 V panels in SERIES to achieve the needed charging voltage of like 30 V maximum. Similarly, for a 48 V battery, panel voltage of 72 V (2 × 36 V panels in SERIES) will work

Another reason for connecting in SERIES is if the requirement from an hybrid inverter is a voltage higher than the Vmp of a single panel. For example, if an hybrid inverter requires a minimum of 96 V from panel, 3 of 36 V panels will work. For further clarificatiom, let's chat
