GREENING THE CAPITAL: SHESTCO’S ACCOUNTING TEAM TAKES ROOT IN ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

In a powerful demonstration of corporate social responsibility and environmental consciousness, the Account and Finance Department of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Abuja, stepped out of the boardroom and into the field today for a landmark tree-planting and afforestation exercise.

Led by the Department's Director, the initiative gained further prestige with the esteemed presence of the Chairman of ICAN Gwagwalada and District Society, Alhaji Sani Abdu Dan Baba. Together, they guided the finance team through a transformative day of sustainability, trading calculators and ledgers for shovels and saplings at a designated site within the Federal Capital Territory.

The exercise, which saw staff actively participating in planting native species, symbolizes a renewed commitment to ecological balance and a greener future for Abuja. It was a moment of synergy between fiscal responsibility and environmental accountability, as the department demonstrated that true stewardship extends beyond financial management to the very environment we inhabit.
