DO YOU WANT TO WORK IN THE FINANCIAL SERVICE INDUSTRY?

โ€” If yes, this is your best shot.

Aside from the government, the financial services industry employs the most people in Nigeria.

Microfinance and commercial banks, Fintech firms, Asset Management, Stockbroking, insurance, Mortgage banks, Trustees & Custodians, Loan companies, and so on are all part of it.

There are now many vacancies in that sector as a result of the massive resignations caused by Japa, and more people are expected to leave between now and September.

Some banks, such as FBN, have recently posted graduate trainee positions for graduates under the age of 27. If you're looking for work, I recommend you take advantage of these opportunities.

You don't even need a lot of experience to work in that field. However, it is an advantage.

This is how you do it.

1. Create and update your CV

2. Create a strong profile on job boards such as Jobberman, Indeed.com, Glassdoor.com, and others.

3. Use LinkedIn to look for job opportunities. All of my jobs have come from LinkedIn.

4. Determine which roles you want. Customer service, sales, marketing, and so forth.

5. Talk to someone you know in the industry and ask them questions to help you. If you don't know anyone there, you can connect with someone who works for the company on LinkedIn.

6. Read and become acquainted with current events in the industry. Understand some fundamentals that will not render you a total novice.

With Indeed, you can search millions of jobs online to find the next step in your career. With tools for job search, resumes, company reviews and more, we're with you every step of the way.

Alot of people say I'm lucky, well I wouldn't really call it Luck, or if Luck must be in the equation then I'll just say I created my own luck through preparation.

Sometime ago I was seeking for a job to sustain myself.

Every good job i see online must require a B.Sc with first class or a M.Sc degree.

I didnโ€™t meet the criteria of some opportunities

I needed a job, I shunned the odds and still applied..

But I thought they said they wanted just first class or M.Sc why were they still calling me to come for interview after they reviewed my CV?

I wasn't surprised do you know why ?

In as much as all this companies want people with good degree, Nobody will see Numerous skill set and not call you up to examine if what they saw is true.

๐Ÿ. ๐ƒ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐

If you see my dressing the day I went for the interview eh ? You'll think I'm the manager of the company. You will be addressed how you dress and it's TRUE.

Your mouth is your greatest weapon in job interviews. Anything you tell them, they will believe first before they doubt later.

I'm not saying you should lie, but you are free to exaggerate with deep understanding of what you are saying.

๐Ÿ’. ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž

Take a deep breathe, don't behave like your life depends on it. Act as if you are about to do them a favor by accepting their employment.

Managers don't want to recruit beggars, it's just like selling, if you behave like your life depends on the sale, it may look like you are in a hurry to scam.

You applied for a job in an oil company and your skill set is different from the company description, how do you want to even get called for interview.

Imagine putting something like Fashion designing, shoe cobbler for an oil company?

But what about putting something like
- Logistic
- Data analysis
- project management
- operations management
- Swimming (Some of this companies are near water)

I hope you get the concept ?

So today, try increasing your skill set to prepare you for the future and give your employer an irrisitable offer.

Hope you got value?

Rules every entrepreneur must know.

When it's time to take a look at the rules of owning a business by every entrepreneur, there are certain qualities a competent organization must acquired.

Rules 1: Hire people who are smarter

Rules 2: Understand the strengths of those hired

Rules 3: Makes communication a high priority

Rules 4: Love them, show it by paying them at a due time and respectfully.

Things you need to Know before you leave for that interview.๐Ÿ‘‡

Throughout the interviewing process, you must use your life experiences and anecdotes to show that you have the strengths that companies are looking for. Hard skills, otherwise known as technical training or education, are important to possess, but once youโ€™ve gotten an interview, employers are looking for more. Theyโ€™re seeking people that will become valuable members of their team, and that possess key characteristics or soft skills.

Soft skills are all about how you function at work and on a team. They are personal traits that directly influence what kind of worker and person you are.

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF.

Yes, I mean you reading this..

Imagine you have 10 minutes, just 10 minutes

to win over a major deal that will change your life forever.

You submitted a rรฉsumรฉ, a proposal..

You waited, waited and waited patiently..

And finally you got that phone call!

That mail or text for briefing/interview.

You arrive the venue..

and you're sitted across the table with the hiring managers,

Then you're asked,

"TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF..."

What will you say?

A lot of people get stuck right here..

They'll end up telling a story of how they grew up having no one to help them,

How this job is second to God of what they need now.

And they'll possibly blow the opportunity.

Boom!! its over..

How did I even say that??

Truth is, the hiring manager will make up his mind in the first 3 minutes.

Now what should you say?

First,

You need to know that the company doesn't care what has happened to you but what you're bringing to the table to benefit the company.

Secondly,

Answer with what you've been doing with your life,

And how that thing can add value to the company if you're employed.

This reveals your strength, your uniqueness and skills.

Finally,

Make a futuristic statement of how the condition of the company will be improved if you're employed.

Let's say the company is looking to fill the position of an advertiser.

Here is how your response should be..

I have been into the art of selling for the past 3 years and I specialize in helping companies increase customer subscription and loyalty.

Over the past 3 years I have helped hundreds of clients increase customer loyalty and subscription to 2-4% in less than 6 months.

That's what I am passionate about.

My real strength is to really understand my target audience and the right product for them after which I build quality content around the product.

I am here because of my search for a company I can add value to. I can produce a positive ROI.

You see...

The conversation was not about you but about what your value and your strength can do for the company.

What are your values?

What are your strengths?

If you got value tell me about it in the comments.

21/01/2021

If you want to be an employee that the business owner loves, there are some things you can do to improve your relationship with the entrepreneur to help you work your way up the ladder, get promoted and become an important part of the company.

Below are seven tips for working in a startup environment.

โžก๏ธ #1: Donโ€™t Ask So Many Questions

I get itโ€”you donโ€™t want to make mistakes.
While a lot of employees justify this by saying they want to serve the company better, this typically isnโ€™t the truth.

Instead, they make it someone elseโ€™s problem.

Entrepreneurs are already super busy, and they donโ€™t have time to answer every question that pops into your head. Instead of asking questions, take a moment to figure things out yourself.

If you canโ€™t come up with a solution, then you can consider asking the question.

If you make a decision and it goes poorly, but you let the entrepreneur know you were trying to protect their time, theyโ€™ll usually understand.

โžก๏ธ #2: Create Solutions, Not Problems

No matter who the entrepreneur that you're working for is, they have plenty of problems to deal with. If you come to them with more problems, especially ones you can solve yourself, they wonโ€™t be super happy about it.

Before you take a problem to an entrepreneur, first think about whether itโ€™s a big enough problem to take to them.

Can you instead solve the problem yourself?

If you can solve your own problems, the business owner will love you. If you have a problem that really needs attention, come up with a few possible solutions first.

From there, the entrepreneur can pick which one they feel is best.
Theyโ€™ll be happy that they didnโ€™t have to take the time to come up with a solution themselves.

โžก๏ธ #3: Make Decisions

This one seems scary because it requires you to stick your neck out.

Entrepreneurs respect decision-makers as long as those decisions aren't consistently bad. If it makes you feel any better, I still make bad decisions at times and get my head bit off by vendors, suppliers and customers.
Think about what the worst-case scenario would look like if you make the wrong decision.

As long as you have a good ratio of good decisions to bad decisions, the entrepreneur will recognize that you simply made a bad call.
It happens to everyone.

A bad decision can also be a learning opportunity, which can make your job easier moving forward.

โžก๏ธ #4: Step Up

A lot of employees can do more.

If you want to be a great employee, don't just show up to collect a paycheck. Instead, step up and take on more work when you're sitting around doing nothing.

You should never say that something โ€œisnโ€™t your job.โ€

If an entrepreneur sees that you're being effective with your time and picking up more work when you have downtime, they'll appreciate it. When it comes time for a bonus, pay raise or promotion, they'll have this in mind.

โžก๏ธ #5: Care A Little Bit

Hereโ€™s the thingโ€”the entrepreneur is a person too.
They're more than just a paycheck.

I get itโ€”a lot of people hate their bosses. Still, a little compassion goes a long way. Tune into your boss and try to think about where they're coming from.

Letโ€™s say, for example, that your boss snaps at you.
Instead of getting everyone at the office riled up about it, think about how the entrepreneur feels.

If this isnโ€™t how they normally act, maybe there's something wrong. Once the situation has settled down, approach the entrepreneur and ask if everything is okay and whether thereโ€™s anything you can do to help.

Entrepreneurs are under a lot of stress andโ€”if you treat them like a human being and careโ€”they'll notice.

โžก๏ธ #6: Impact Revenue

I donโ€™t care what your position in a business isโ€”find a way to positively impact revenue.

If you can find a way to generate more money, you're sure to make your entrepreneur happy since cash is king in a startup. In fact, find a way to make more money for the company than you earn in income.

If you're able to do this, they essentially canโ€™t fire you.
Letโ€™s say you make $7,000 a month.

If you're making the company $10,000 a month, thatโ€™s $3,000 of profit for them. It would be dumb for them to let you go.

โžก๏ธ #7: Come Prepared When Pitching An Idea

If you have an excellent idea to improve the business, thatโ€™s great.
Again, entrepreneurs love solutions.

However, have the data to back up your pitch. You need to have numbers available and be able to answer, โ€œWhy?โ€ Before you even consider taking the idea to the entrepreneur, put the idea through the ringer.

Consider why the idea may not work and make adjustments to your idea.
If you build a history of having good ideas, the entrepreneur will be happy to listen to you when you want to pitch something.

If you're working at a startup, make sure you're doing what I outlined.
You'll stand out in the right way, which will make working in a startup environment that much more pleasant for everyone.

*2021 to 2030: WHAT TO EXPECT & HOW YOU SHOULD POSITION YOURSELF*

For 2021...

You will need 7 Masteries

Or 7 Competencies

Or 7 Skills

2021 will be a challenging but great year

Only Masters will survive same.

The next 10 years will be a revolutionary decade.

The world will evolve. Fully. It will go Digital. There will be 5G and 6G and 7G.

The Internet Of Things will be completed.

The disparity between the rich and the poor will widen.

There will be no middle class.

You will either be poor or rich.

Money will become purely digital. Bitcoin. Altcoin. Tokens. Community Coin.

I mean the real money will be Digital.

Money will become value exchange.

Money will be shared only within communities. Virtual, especially.

Money will be made only based on:

The Value you create

The Value you add

The Problems you solve

The Solutions you provide through your expertise

The Products and services you will be able to sell

The wealth formula for the next 10 years will be ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

VVF

V - Value

V - Volume

F - Frequency

Create VALUE. Think in terms of VOLUME. And do this FREQUENTLY.

So for 2021, you have got to understand the following differences:

1. Information
2. Education
3. Knowledge
4. Application
5. Mastery/Skill

INFORMATION : Value Data. Usable bits. You will make progress these next 10 years based on the updates and useful information you have access to.

EDUCATION : Organized information put together by dead people and taught mostly in our schools. The certificate will give you some access. But formal education is not enough.

KNOWLEDGE : Knowledge is Sequential, Structured, Functional and Relevant information

The persons who will help you transform information to knowledge is called Teacher.

There are 3 kinds of Teachers you should be having:

1. Role Models
2. Mentors
3. Coaches

Role Models have your gifts in advance state or your idea in advance state.

You know role models but they don't know you.

Role Models are Living Knowledge

You observe them and learn from them from a distance.

Mentors are similar to role models but they have a relationship with you

You know them and they know you.

The difference between a role model and a mentor in your life is the relationship you have with the mentor

Coaches don't necessarily have the qualities you have but have the ability to bring the best in you.

You know the coach. And the coach knows you.

The Coach may not have your expertise or Vision but he is positioned to bring out the best in you.

While a Mentor and Role Model will INSPIRE you. A Coach will INSTRUCT you
These 3 Teachers help you convert Information into Knowledge

Your information about life is not enough. This information needs to be organized, structured, and epitomized by these 3 Teachers.

APPLICATION:

The world rarely pays you for what you know. They pay you for what you do.

The world admires professors but they pay professionals.

Professors accumulate knowledge. Professionals apply knowledge.

MASTERY /SKILL

โ˜๐Ÿฝ This is where we are going

Information, education, knowledge and application are quite important.... But none will help you in the next 10 years more than Mastery

Your certificate will give you access for the job interview

Your KNOWLEDGE will give you the Job.

But it's your SKILL that will give you promotion and keep you at the job when the going is tough or when the organization is downsizing.

In the next 10 years, there will be

A lot of mergers and acquisition

Downsizings

Technological advances and innovation

Artificial intelligence taking human jobs.

You need

Survival Skills
Navigation Skills &
Global Skills.

You will need MULTIPLE SKILLS

You will need to have a SKILL RANGE

So that no matter what happens, you have another skill to select and survive.

You will also need a SKILL SET

SKILL RANGE means multiple But DIFFERENT SKILLS . SKILL SETS means multiple but COMPLIMENTARY skills

Skill is Application done repeatedly

Skill is application done habitually

Skill is taking consistent actions with improvement at the back of your mind

Skill is really not consistency. Skill is consistency in improvement

So as I conclude, let's look at the 7 Masteries

These 7 Masteries are not information, education, knowledge or one off application.

These 7 Masteries are Skills and Competencies.

Between 2021 and 2030 master them

Mastery 1: *Visioneering*

VISIONEERING is *The ability to Convert Thoughts To Things.*

It's the engineering of visions into reality.

It's the ability to make what you have in your mind get to your hand

It's all that goes into

CONCEPTUALIZATION
Articulation
& Actualization

Do you have ideas and make them real?

How often do you get this done?

On scale of 1 - 10 how do you rate yourself in terms of making your ideas happen(Visioneering)

Mastery 2: *Communication*

Communication is your ability to

Connect
Cast
Convince.

Mastery 3: *Leadership as a skill will help you *multiply your success*

Leadership *is your ability to duplicate or replicate your effort and multiply your results through team work.*

Leadership is influence that leads to affluence.

Leadership is effective delegation. Effectively matching roles with talents.

Leadership is reproduction. Reproducing yourself

Mastery 4: *Selling*

In the next 10 years, you will want to master selling.

You won't make money if you don't sell.

Don't master selling to one person. *Master selling to many*

One to One. One to Many.

One to One is one-on-one Prospecting. One to Many is very often *Digital Marketing*

Digital Marketing is must learn and master for the next 10 years.

Take all your projects and businesses online.

There will be many more diseases like Covid-19.

Virtual Connections and Marketing will save you from bankruptcy.

Also, you want to master *branding* , *packaging* and *promotions* the tripartite strategies for business success

Mastery 5: *Financial Intelligence & Mastery*

There are several books and materials on financial intelligence and mastery. Please go online, download and read them with understanding as it will enhance your financial management abilities.

Mastery 6: *GoalSetting & Activity Management*

I am also going to be sending an audio titled *GoalSetting*

It will help you in 2021 and beyond.

How do you breakdown your vision into goals and get them actualized?

Mastery 7: *Personal Mastery*

What does personal Mastery mean?

It means Personal Discovery + Personal Development

It means handling your *emotions*

Personal Mastery is a skill not readily available and so anyone who has it, will be hot ๐ŸŽ‚ cake!

How do you handle situations?

How do you handle disappointment?

How do you handle success?

Do you allow success to get into your head or failure to attack your heart?

So these are the 7 Masteries

1. Visioneering
2. Communication
3. Leadership
4. Selling
5. Financial Intelligence and Mastery
6. GoalSetting & Activity Management
7. Personal Mastery

Scale yourself 1 to 10.

1 being poor and 10 being excellent.

Determine where you are at the moment.

Then make up your mind that the year 2021 is the year of *Upgrade*

For example, if you are on 4 in Visioneering, make up your mind to step up to 6 or 7

Look for books on all these 7.

Look for mentors in these 7 areas.

Attend virtual and physical training in these areas.

Above all, the Grace of GOD will make the difference. So, don't stop depending and relying on Him for favour and grace, He will save those who seek His salvation. He Has never failed and can never fail those who put their trust in Him.
