HOW TO COLLECT MORE MONEY FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS

If you are an artisan; digital or handcraft , here is how you could get more AOV (average order value) from clients who come to you.

It's all about the quality of questions you ask and to some extent your network.

So let's say you are a graphics designer and a client comes to you to create a flyer for their event.

You should ask them lots of questions for example:

Client: I want to create two.flyers for my upcoming event

Me: ok that's great can you tell me more about the event and what you hope you achieve

Client : It's a women empowerment bla bla...

Me: that's awesome. I could help you create this flyer. I would love to ask, do you have a brand colour?

Client : Em no, but you could use Blue...bla bla

Me: Great I think that will work with what you want to do and evoke the right emotions in your prospects. Let me also ask, do you have a website. Where people can check you out and check out other speakers for your events?

Client : no but that's a really great idea. Can you design one for me and how much will that cost?

Me: yes we could design one for you. Do you have a logo?

Client : no..I think I'll also need one.

Me: Great. We could design your flyers, website and logo for you...

The idea is to ask questions that make them realise what they didn't even know they needed.

This way they get to spend more money with you and you get to deliver move value while building your authority in their minds.

Now say you don't know how to build websites, you could easily partner with a website designer and they do the job while you focus in your strengths.

Take The Faster Vehicle. ✅✅

Perhaps you are like me, doing so many things to ensure you don't go broke and somehow none of the plenty things you are doing seem to work well or at all

Perhaps you are "Mr/mrs potential", a person blessed with so many ideas, talents and skills, making you "look good" at everything you do.

What I mean by look good is that in the surface, you seem able to produce results from different skills and talents you have,

But they are micro results.

There is no real depth to the results and your "results" from all the talents and skills don't seem to help you make the big bucks

I recently found myself in this potision, doing 5 different things to make money and get results but actually going no where.

Mr/Mrs "Skill and Talent" is still B.R.O.K.E..

The answer to this delima lies in my topic sentence and it's what I decided to do for myself.

Lets go!

Of all the skills, talents, businesses you are into, take a pen and paper and do the math.

Write them down, calculate how many sales, customers, projects etc, you would need to hit your first ₦1,000,000.

Pick the one that has the lowest number of projects/customers/sales and remove everything else.

Make this one you pick your 1 year goal and watch who you become in the next 365 days.

That's all you really need.

6 Elements of A High Converting Landing Page For Digital Trainings/Webinars

1️⃣ Right Colour Combinations

Colour is very powerful. Your colour combination can determine whether someone sees you as an authority in the game or not.

Ever landed on a website and it looks as if a war just happened there and you are not sure what to do next or if you even want to remain on that page? That is how powerful colours are.

Your choice of colours can keep people glued to your page or move on to the next thing of interest without fulfilling what brought them to that page. It also establishes some form of authority, this is because the more organised and arranged your page looks the more impression it makes in the mind of your potential customers.

If you are unsure of what colours to use make use of a simple Black-White-Red combination. This has been proven to work time and time again.

2️⃣ A Powerful Benefit Driven Headline

The very first thing that will entice your reader to read more is your headline.

Your headline must be powerful enough to show them what they stand to benefit from attending your training in one sentence while simultaneously avoid triggering any advertising policy such as the "Unrealistic Outcomes Policy"

This is very important if you use paid advertising such as Facebook ads.

Your headline must state the core benefit while your hook explains the benefits to your customer.

Your headline should be bold and use catchy colours such as Red or Orange.

3️⃣ More Benefits & Other Requirements

Your write up has to include (and in bullet from) simple benefits they stand to gain from attending your training.

You should also include some requirements they need to get the best out of the class. Are they going to need data ? Do they need to download a particular app ? Will they need to be available at ABC time?

Be sure to include every information they will need in the webcopy.

However you should try to keep yourself copy as short as possible.

4️⃣ Date, Location And Duration

This is also a very good option to add and it helps people know what they are signing up for.

By adding a time they will know if they will be available at that specific time and it will also help them to ensure they block out time for the event.

5️⃣ Chase Away Non-customers

This is a very interesting concept and is still undergoing development.

One way to do this is to let your reader know that there is a paid offer at the end of the free training which would help them achieve results faster.

Another way to go about this is to remind people that despite the fact it's a free training it's not for people who do not implement or is it for people who want to get rich quick or get results without action.

6️⃣ Build authority.

Lastly, your landing page should build some level of authority.

You can use this page to showcase testimonials, results, your story or facts and figures that buttress your depth of knowledgeable & experience in the field.

These testimonials must not be yours, it can be those of friends or students of yours.

Using these make your potential customers know they will be learning from the best, not just any Jack, Jill and Harry.

7️⃣ Bonus (optional) : Welcoming Video

This is optional, but if you could create a welcoming video that summarises what they would be learning, then that could increase conversion rate of your sales page.

By the way, you should always measure the conversion rate by diving the number of people who landing in your WhatsApp group or dm by the number of landing page views you have.

It's a good metric for measuring the strength of your landing page.

Top 5 Lessons I've Learned as a Sales & Marketing Consultant

My online journey started in 2019 and most of it back then was figuring out where I wanted to be in the online space.

Due to jumping from one shiny object syndrome to the other and from one mentor to the other it took forever to figure out where I really wanted to be.

It wasn't until 2021 that I started to Lazer focus into sales and marketing and I started to figure out where I wanted to be.

In those times and till date, I've learnt alot of lessons. Here are top 5 I'd love to share with you today:

1️⃣ Get A Job

Struggling is part of the game.

When you're just starting out you are definitely going to have a lot of difficulties figuring out where you want to be and you will definitely not be able to sustain yourself during that period.

Getting a job is important especially if you cannot rely on your family.

When I started out I had to move out of my parents house and it was very difficult for me until I got a job.

My job helped me relax, pay the bills, feed and be able to focus on my brand at the same time.

So when I tried things and they failed, I wasn't too perplexed. I just needed to work on a better plan and try again.

So if you are still in school or still under your parents then this point might not really apply to you as you can focus your entire time on building your brand and you wouldn't have to work at a job.

2️⃣ Make Noise Or Go Broke

You may have the best product in the world but if nobody knows about it you are not going to sell a single unit.

While browsing through the streets of Facebook yesterday, I came across the picture of a boy who had won 7 different awards but was presently working as a mechanic and nobody knew him while Hilda ( the Nigerian chef who just set the Guinness world records for cooking 100 hours) was celebrated nationwide for her recent achievement.

And while the poster was lamenting that the boy was not being celebrated, someone commented brilliantly, stating that the reason nobody knew him was because the boy did not blow his trumpet.

This led me to a little-known comparison in the Bible between the wise King and the wise old man. The wise King (king Solomon) was known and celebrated worldwide for almost every single achievement he did. He wrote several books which were published in the Bible and the other works which are published in Jewish literature.

The old man however saved a city from impending invasion using his wisdom however his name was never written in the Bible nor was he celebrated or rewarded for that achievement.

It's the same thing happening with most of us while we have very good products we have no idea how to blow our trumpet and get people to notice and buy from us.

The fastest way to change this is to have a personal brand which is niched down to a specific type of person.

Remember no matter how good your product is if no one knows about it, it ain't going to sell.

3️⃣ When You Find What Works, Milk It

Several times you will come across a formula that works and when you do you should stay there and milk it.

Don't jump to the next shiny object simply because it seems another person is making more money than you.

When I started selling Google My Business Trainings, I tried several different ways of selling my services and products and it took me five months to find a method that worked.

When I finally found it, I milked it completely. As of today over 3500 people have passed through my trainings where I have taught in 25 + WhatsApp groups and YouTube webinars.

So when you find that method/ system that works for you milk it completely.

4️⃣ You Can't Scale Without Structure

This is an ongoing battle for me. I recently started learning about structure and trying to see how to implement it in my business.

Truth is without structure you are simply a hustler or to put it another way without structure you are simply self-employed.

Structure here includes ;

✅ Registering your business name
✅ Getting a business website
✅ Getting a business bank account
✅ Setting aside a certain part of your income for business expenses ,
✅ Developing a proven framework for getting clients, onboarding, retaining and using clients for referrals.
✅ Getting employees or delegating tasks

Without these you are simply self employed and cannot scale easily.

5️⃣ You Can't Make Money Without Products

This should probably be number one.

So many people are broke simply because they do not have in products.

Simply put they have so much knowledge but they have not "productised" it and so people cannot pay them for the solutions they give.

To turn your services or knowledge into a product you simply have to understand who is the best person that needs such knowledge or service and what is a transformation they stand to gain from that knowledge or service.

Lastly you have to package it by giving it a catchy name and add bonuses that help the end-user gain more value from it thereby making it irresistible.

When it comes to actually running advertising - DONT LISTEN TO WHAT THE PLATFORM SAYS

Most times when you want to run and what's the platform always suggest for you ways which are seemingly better and will give you better results. Don't listen to them.

The platform is designed to make money for its owners and not to help you get the best out of your money.

This is why irrespective of the kind of ad you are running, platforms like Facebook will usually recommend you use automatic placements

Imagine using automatic placement in a video ad. This means your ad will show up in places like "Messenger" and "Instagram Explore Home" where no one is going to click on those ads but you will still be charged for impressions.

Another recommendation Facebook gives is using "link clicks" objective, while linkclicks has its place, it's not ever effective for driving conversions and so avoid it if your goal is to sell something

So when creating your ads, your ad creatives and your target customers should determine what placements and objective you choose.

Either ways, before you run ads, learn what is actually working from someone who is using it, and avoid using what the algorithm is suggesting most of the time.

2% of people who buy a course ever open it to go through!

The rest are just adrenaline junkies who think it's by getting a course the results just fly in.

I first observed this in 2021 during the 72ig vitality. There were 22k affiliate of the program.

Less than 1000 ever sold anything.!

As a course creator you should let people know there is work involved in getting the results you promise

Secondly don't feel bad If they don't get results, you cannot force anyone to open their book/laptop/phone and study... Make your money and smile.

You can only take the horse to the river... Nndo, you've tried.

As someone who is seeking for results, try to figure out the cost of the results beyond the course you are buying.

What more is required?

This story is for those who want to relocate and contains some valuable lessons.

Let's go!!!

A co-worker of mine resigned a month ago and decided to relocate to meet her husband in the UK.

Arriving there a day before Valentine's she peppered our timelines with romantic pictures and stuff.

Few days later she posted another picture with the caption "break is over, time to work"

She was cleaning toilets and mopping floors in the UK.

Before she relocated, she was a social media manager with a pay of 160k.

Was it wrong for her to relocate? NO

Was it wrong for her to wash toilets? No

But here is the catch, if she had developed skills that allowed her to make money online, then she won't have to do that cos she'll simply keep making her income online irrespective of where she goes.

You've all seen pictures and videos of doctors who relocate and become caregivers and cleaners. It's the same reason with my friend here - no global online skills

So you maybe planning to relocate as well, here is my advice to you

Do not relocate until you have at least 3 skills that can fetch you money from anywhere around the world

One of such is making sales online and you basically dont even need to have your own products.

Affiliate marketing platforms have made it very easy.

So here are 3 things you need to succeed with selling online

1. Constant inflow of high quality leads from ads such as Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube Google. You must constantly be generating new leads daily

Luckily Facebook ads is one of the easiest and cheapest to learn and you can start running ads with just your mobile phone.

Haven spent over ₦1.2m in advertising for myself and clients, I can tell you it's one of the best traffic sources there is.

2. High converting Sales process

3. Ability to close leads and turn them into buying customers.

If you are armed with all 3, then making money from anywhere in the world shouldn't be difficult and you won't have to mop floors when you relocate

𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝 𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙗𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨:

1. Generate leads to watch a webinar for a super high ticket product ( by Nigerian standards). Product is ₦550k .

2. Sell a low ticket ebook to cover for front end of the funnel and generate some immediate ROI. This product was ₦5k but we dropped the price to ₦1k to test the funnel and the Ads

3. Create automations for the leads, testing various softwares to find out which one gives the cheapest means of sending FB leads directly to email tags, segments and audiences to enable them build their email list.

Here is a couple of things I've learnt on this journey.

1. When you have a super high ticket product, you cannot rely on just one touch point (in the case of this company, they were relying on only email marketing).

I immediately told them to integrate other touch points such as WhatsApp marketing and getting on a consultation call as well as a monthly live webinar.

That's not all, I also told them to create low end products (the ebook in point 2 above) so that people who are sceptical about their services will buy that (since it's super low ticket and not a big risk) and get to know the company's value and associate with the brand better.

The more higher your products, the more touch points you have to create, this is especially true for digital products.

2. When selling ebooks, video Ads describing the problem and why they need the ebook works best. Also (something I learnt from Prince Duja ) never sell ebooks, sell solutions, guides, checklists, planners etc.

People don't want to buy another ebook and read, they want a solution to their problems. Yes it's generally called an ebook but don't call it that on your ads. It rubbishes the value.

I created over 20 creatives to sell the ebook but none of them worked. I kept getting very high CPM (₦1500+, probably cos I'm terrible at creating graphics) and very poor CTR (below 0.7%).

It wasn't until I decided to use video that everything changed. In the video we described all the problems people faced and told them how the guide we were selling helped them solved it.

Boom!

CRT of 3% & CPM of ₦358 were the result and as I'm typing this we have made 5 sales. And we just started yesterday.

3. Leads ads is one of the best and cheapest ads to use if you are good with follow up or sell multiple products or services.

There are simple softwares you can use to capture leads directly from Facebook and send them to your email list without building a landing page. Example are Make and zapier.

However using a simple landing page (such as a Cognito forms) might be cheaper as you can simply download and upload the CSV to your email software later.

Usually with leads ads, you can get leads for around ₦30 per lead when done well ( ₦500 gets you 166 leads and even if you close 1% that's about 1.6 or 2 customers).

However to use lead ads, ensure you have multiple touchpoints and your email marketing game is good. In my own agency, SellBeta Marketing Solutions, we are going to be employing the use of a free consultation call when using leads. This should usually lead to higher closing rates ( closing will be done on the call).

Anyways for this travel agency, in the space of 3 weeks, we have generated over 1700+ new email subscribers, getting each for an average of ₦35.
