BUTTERCREAM
Have you been wondering how to deliver a cake with a nice buttercream frosting like the picture below ?

There are 2 major types of buttercream used by bakers to cover cakes.
They are :
1. Margarine buttercream
2. White buttercream (shortening).
1. Margarine buttercream ( below ๐) : This is the most commonly use buttercream used by bakers in Nigeria. It involves mixing a certain proportion of margarine ( such as simas, Napa , Jubi e.t.c) and icing sugar.
How to make a smooth buttercream like the picture below ๐:
MATERIALS :
250g margarine
500g icing sugar
A pinch of salt
ยผ cup of warm/ hot water
Flavor ( optional
TOOLS :
A metal bowl, spatula, hand-whisk / hand-mixer , digital scale.
PROCEDURE :
1). Place a clean metal bowl on a digital scale and measure 250g of the margarine and set side. In another bowl, measure 500g of icing sugar, sieve it and set aside too.
2). Use your hand whisk / hand mixer to whisk the margarine for 5-10mins .
3). Add the icing sugar subsequently into the whisked margarine and fold (using spatula / the whisk).
4) Add the warm water subsequently (not all ) till you get your desired nice frost.
5). Sprinkle a pinch of salt to the mixture and fold as well.
Your buttercream is ready for immediate use.
Note : Buttercream give more nice frosting when set aside for a while before use.
