In the early hours of May 12th, 2025, the Nigerian troops faced terror as their base was attacked by terrorist group ISWAP. These soldiers lodged in the Forward operation base of the 153 Taskforce Battalion at around 3am Monday morning. This is not the first time a gruesome attack on soldiers happened, and this recent attack on men of the Nigerian armed forces brings us to ask questions like; What exactly is going on?...

In today's dating scenario, I think I'll give whatever this is the tag name of ping pong. Even though I have never played the game, the name just fits the description. Where does one even start from, the back and forth, the eye rolling, the heavy conversations, the stupid wait for who will text first, then the final death of an already unstable connection....

I wondered if she didn't feel out of place, if she didn't care that everyone there saw her face. She laughed and looked at me, beady eyed, the most determined eyes I've ever seen. She said, what's there to hide anty. If anyone would look at me and laugh at my predicament or make mockery of me, what does that make them?...

I was opportuned to moderate a tech program that involved panel discussions and coaching and training sessions for developers. It was also a 'hackathon' with a catch. A grand price of 2500$.

I'm thrilled to say that, I have unlocked a new curiosity, and I'm tempted to delve into the world of tech. You might be looking at a near future tech sis!

I'm extremely grateful and excited about to my wonderful circle. Fatima Murtala, who after constantly reminding me that I needed to use my voice more put me on this gig without thinking twice. You're an angel ma.

Abdulrazaq Bashirat Damilola who when I complained about my social anxiety told me "What's there that you cannot do?" She also left her work to come watch me, and told me, "look how confident you are jor!!😃. Sabeerah Aleeyu for the constant hype. I appreciate having you all by my side and thank you all for loving me unconditionally.

We'll be doing daring things in 2024, Insha Allah.

A lot of us humans have a rift with time. Some of us feel that time is slow while some feel that it's too fast. Whichever the case may be, we may never be satisfied with time or life in its entirety. We forget that time is not an opponent, but our friend in actual sense of thoughts. We just hate for the truth to be presented to us, right in our faces and that is exactly what time does....

This phrase, resonates in almost every conversation about Nigeria. The non stop ethnic conflict, tribalism and complete disgust and district for each other.

This talk about Nigerias tangibility, started from the very beginning, from the day we developed the idea to rule ourselves. We were handed over a country at the brink of a collapse to handle. A mutation of the place we call home, a make believe development and an obvious hapharzard arrangement of tribes and colonies. As expected from a state, we were supposed to live in peace and try to tolerate one another's missteps.

You cannot control what you do not understand. Nigerians do not understand this new place. Sixty years later, and we still don't.

For a people who easily succumbed to colonialism, and accepted foreign rules without hesitation, self rule is as like a su***de we imposed on ourselves. It was just like trying to tackle a deadly contagion without first making the necessary research required to manouever it.

If Nigeria falls, it may be a revelation of what it was before it was. The very naked presence of a country we revere.

If Nigeria falls, wrapper has torn and we have made the evil choice to expose the privates of our motherland.

Letting us have freedom at the point we had it was allowing a small baby ride a motorbike, as expected it led to a disaster.

National peace or national pieces? When the hatred venom flows through our veins, it would take more than media peace messages to curb such a poison. We were not amalgamated to live in peace, we were shown each others differences and were expected to be disgusted by it and boy did we excel in doing something. We were a hypothesis, studied close enough and very predictable. You thought it was patriotism right?

Patriotism would mean deep love for our country, and this will also mean love for every tribe, clan or kind. This setting does not exist in the mind of most Nigerians.

Focusing on corruption, what do you expect from a country raised and fostered by looters and colonial hoodlooms. We picked up the traits, learnt obnoxious ways to ruin and manipulate anything righteous that would develop the country. We are still playing the same hand of poker our assailant used on us. Huge mess.

What's next?? Confederalism??

Do we even have a scope to enable us peer into that kind of future ??

Methodologically, Nigeria could be diagnosed as unstable and a deteriorate by anyone with a clear view of the outrageous mismanagement, overflow of inhumanity of citizens against one another. A clean proof of the facts that lie within Chinua's historical observation, perceptions and entire literature inserted into the text of his last book, 'There Was a Country'. The problem didn't stem from now, it has its aged roots deeply infused into the Nigerian soil....
