The Superwoman That I Am
Sometimes I wonder why I'm wired this way. I ask myself, "Hafsah, why can't you just take a break and live like normal people?" But Iāve recently realized that I can't. I haven't yet pinpointed what fuels my passion or seen what the future holds for me, but with my thirst for knowledge and constant self-improvement, I know for sure that Allah will not let my efforts go to waste.
I used to have a different perspective on financial breakthroughs, but now I believe that if I want to earn, I must first learn, unlearn, and relearn. Continuous growth is key.
Hereās the main gist: Last year, I enrolled in a program at LASU for STEM Education and Entrepreneurship (Biology Specialization). This World Bank and AAU-funded program is now 80% complete. In the middle of it, I registered for the SAIL Teacherās Fellowship Phase 1, which equipped me with the inquiry-based learning approach, assessment tools like Quizizz, and content creation tools like Canva. Attendance and assignments were crucial, and I was fortunate to move to the next phase after a rigorous selection from 4000 teachers.
There was a break in between, but I didn't let my guard down. I registered for a diction and elocution class. Next, I attended weekend classes organized by one of my mentors, focusing on digital marketing, content creation, and general skills for the 21st century.
Currently, Iām enrolled in three online trainings:
The British Council STEP training, lasting three months.
DSN (Data Science Nigeria) training on Data Analysis for Educators, lasting six weeks.
SAIL Teacherās Fellowship Phase 2, lasting twelve weeks.
Remember, I am a mother, a wife, an educator, and the founder of the MUSLIMAH COMPERE brand. These roles come with their responsibilities. How I juggle all of them is best known to God.
This post isnāt to brag but to inspire an educator out there. There is no excuse for achieving what you want. I donāt know what the future holds, but I will keep upskilling and growing.
My love to all educators out there. I hope this inspires someone.
Shalom.
