Our Executive Director, Yusuf Temilola Nurudeen, is attending the International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

He looks forward to engaging with legal practitioners from other jurisdictions and participating in sessions organised by the IBA’s Access to Justice and Legal Aid, Pro Bono, Criminal Law, Litigation, Employment and Industrial Relations Law, Human Rights Law, War Crimes, Public Law and Young Lawyers’ Committees and Forum.

Through these engagements, he hopes to exchange knowledge, develop meaningful professional relationships and explore opportunities for international collaboration in advancing access to justice, human rights, public interest advocacy and effective legal representation.

I met Ismail Ajakaiye today. He has obviously heard so much about me and the LASU 2014 struggles.

He had to make a video as proof that he met me. I was particularly shy 🙈 because who am I?

One of the most remarkable events of my life was my Walimatul Qur'an in 2001. On that day, there were prayers like 'wa se iru fun ọmọ', meaning you repeat the same feat for your own child. Allah answered the prayers. AlhamduLlilah, my son, Ya'seer Towobola Akanni, had his Walimatul Qur'an lastweek.

This time, the school challenged them by calling anyone from the audience to open any part of the Qur'an for them to recite. They test not just the recitation of the Qur'an but their understanding of the rules. At some point, the mother and I were trying to recite with him. That need to help your child as a parent is innate.
