JOB VACANCY: OPERATIONS OFFICER - LEKKI LAGOS
A logistics company is seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Officer to join her team. As an Operations Officer, you will be responsible for managing the last mile operations in Lagos, ensuring smooth and timely delivery of orders. The role will involve overseeing dispatch riders, building partnerships with riders and companies, negotiating the best cost rates, and maintaining low operational costs. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating updates, ensuring transparent and accurate information flow, generating reports, ensuring safety protocols, and other relevant duties.

Location: Lekki - Lagos
Job Responsibilities:
(1) Manage Dispatch Riders: Supervise and coordinate the activities of dispatch riders,
including assigning delivery routes, monitoring performance, and providing necessary
support and guidance.
(2) Partnership Development: Identify and establish partnerships with riders and
companies, negotiating the best cost rates to optimize operational costs while
maintaining service quality.
(3) Communication and Updates: Maintain effective communication channels with dispatch
riders, providing regular updates, instructions, and addressing any concerns or issues
that may arise during the delivery process.
(4) Information Management: Ensure accurate and transparent information flow between
dispatch riders and other team members, keeping track of order status, delivery
updates, and resolving any discrepancies or delays.
(5) Reporting: Generate regular reports on delivery performance, rider productivity,
operational costs, and other relevant metrics to monitor and improve operational
efficiency.
(6) Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all riders adhere to road
safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and secure working
environment.
(7) Cost Optimization: Continuously explore ways to keep operational costs low without
compromising service quality, such as optimizing delivery routes, minimizing wastage,
and seeking cost-effective solutions.
(8) Delivery Management: Oversee the overall delivery process, proactively identifying
areas for improvement, implementing solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
● Proven experience of 2-3 years in logistics operations, preferably in last-mile delivery.
● Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
effectively.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team of
dispatch riders and liaise with internal stakeholders.
