🔥 “I’LL DELIVER OSUN FOR TINUBU” - ADELEKE RESTATED

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has again declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, insisting that he will deliver Osun State votes for the President.

Adeleke reportedly said his promise is genuine and that he does not make empty promises. He also called on people from Osun to put political differences aside and work for Tinubu.

But there is an interesting question here.

Can any governor truly “deliver” the votes of a state, or are the votes ultimately owned by the people?

A governor can mobilise supporters. A political party can campaign. Influential leaders can endorse candidates.

But when voters enter the polling booth, shouldn't the final decision belong to them?

Adeleke is a PDP governor publicly backing an APC president. That alone makes this an interesting political development ahead of 2027.

So, what do you think?

Is Adeleke's promise to deliver Osun for Tinubu a smart political move, genuine conviction, or an overestimation of how much influence a governor has over voters?

Indonesian Man Kills Neighbour Who Kept Asking Him Why He Was Not Married At 45.

A 45-year-old man in Indonesia allegedly killed his 60-year-old neighbour after he was hurt and became annoyed by the latter’s persistence in asking him why he was not married.

Indonesian media reported that the incident took place in South Tapanuli regency, located in North Sumatra, on July 29.

The victim was a retired civil servant named Asgim Irianto, said the region’s Assistant Police Commissioner (AKP) Maria Marpaung on July 31, according to Indonesian media outlet Detik Jogja.

AKP Maria said that based on a statement provided by Mr Asgim’s wife, the attacker, Parlindungan Siregar, arrived at their home at about 8pm on July 29 wielding a piece of wood, and began attacking the victim without warning.

Mr Asgim ran out to the street, where he was pursued by Parlindungan before he was struck by a blow to the head. After he was felled, Mr Asgim was allegedly beaten further by Parlindungan.

Residents in the area eventually stopped the beating and rushed Mr Asgim to the hospital, but he died before reaching, said AKP Maria

According to AKP Maria, Parlindungan said during questioning by police that he was determined to beat Mr Asgim to death because he was hurt by how often his neighbour asked him, in jest, why he was not married.

Prior to the fatal attack, the two neighbours reportedly also had arguments when the chickens they respectively owned went to the other’s coop, reported Detik Jogja

Woman allegedly cuts off husband’s manhood in Yobe

An 18-year-old housewife has allegedly severed her husband’s manhood in Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Police Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed this to journalists in Damaturu on Friday.

According to the police, the disturbing incident occurred at about 1am on February 6, 2026, but was not reported to the Potiskum Divisional Police Station until 3pm later that day.

SP Abdulkarim stated that the suspect, who is currently at large, allegedly used a sharp knife to mutilate her husband’s organ before fleeing the scene.

“Following the report, police operatives promptly visited the scene and rushed the victim to the State Specialist Hospital, Potiskum, for urgent medical attention,” he said.

The victim was subsequently referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The police spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack. He noted that certain sensitive details of the case are being withheld to protect the victim from further trauma.

The Commissioner of Police for Yobe State, CP Emmanuel Ado, strongly condemned the act, emphasizing that marriage should be built on mutual respect, understanding, patience, and tolerance.

There appears to be a let-up in the political crisis rocking Rivers State.

President Bola Tinubu last night met with the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and some leaders from the state in A*o Rock.

Though details of the meeting remain sketchy, a source informed The Nation that the embattled Governor Fubara followed Wike to his house in Guzape, Abuja, after the meeting.
