HON. (TPL) OGUNWOLE FEMI ADEBAYO ATTENDS NAFPA MAIDEN ANNUAL LECTURE ON PHYSICAL PLANNING AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Hon. (Tpl) Ogunwole Femi Adebayo, the National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria (ATOPCON), was among distinguished professionals and stakeholders who attended the maiden Annual Lecture of the Nathaniel Atebije Foundation for Planning Advocacy (NAFPA) held at the prestigious Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
The lecture themed “The Renewed Hope Agenda: The Physical Planning Perspective,” brought together experts, policymakers, academics and development advocates to examine the critical role of physical planning in achieving sustainable national growth under Nigeria’s current development framework.
Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, Vice Chancellor of Bells University provided insightful perspectives on how strategic physical planning can serve as a cornerstone for the Renewed Hope Agenda. He emphasized the importance of integrating urban planning policies with economic and social development goals, noting that effective land use planning, infrastructure development and environmental sustainability are indispensable to national progress.
Hon. Ogunwole Femi Adebayo’s presence at the event underscores his commitment to advancing professional discourse and promoting best practices within the planning sector. As a seasoned town planner and public figure, he engaged with fellow professionals on innovative approaches to tackling urban challenges, including rapid urbanization, housing deficits and infrastructural gaps.
In his interaction with participants, Hon. Ogunwole reiterated the need for stronger collaboration between government institutions, private sector stakeholders and planning professionals to drive inclusive and well-structured development across the country. He highlighted that he is ready to serve his people by building an environmental sustainable development for the growth of Yewa-South/Ipokia Federal Constituency and the people.
The event also served as a platform to advocate for increased awareness and policy support for the planning profession, with NAFPA positioning itself as a key driver of advocacy and capacity building in the sector.
The maiden annual lecture of NAFPA marks a significant step toward fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s physical planning system.
