ID BURSTER TO DEFEND UBO TITLE BELT AGAINST EGYPTIAN, MAMDOU
Almost a year after he made his debut at the international scene, defeating a more experienced Ghanian boxer, Bastie Samir; Nigeria light heavyweight boxer, Rasheed "ID BUSTER" Idowu is ready to defend the once vacant Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) title he won on the 13th of April, last year.
The bout, though generated so many controversies as it was declared a technical draw by the officials despite Idowu dominating the fight; knocking his opponent (Bastie) down on occasions before he (opponent) was zoomed off for medications.
Justice was later served after the right approach from the Nigerian authorities.
The past seems gone as another challenger is on the block for the title. It's no other person than Egyptian, Basem "Black Tiger" Mamdou (7W, 1KO; 2L, 2KO; 0D) .
The bout tagged "CHAOS IN THE RING" is one of many to come up on the 18th of April, 2025 at the Balmoral convention centre, V.I. Lagos.
The defending champion, full of spirits didn't hide his readiness.
"If I could do it in far away Ghana as a non title holder and a less known boxer at the international stage. My preparation makes me optimistic that victory is assured as I've always been at the gym brazing myself for the upcoming challenge.
Confident of her boxers, The CEO of the Aiyegbeni Boxing Club, Edna Aiyegbeni, daughter to the late boxing promoter, Chief Francis Aiyegbeni pours her mind out with smiles.
" We've done all our assignments. The only thing left is to wrap it up on the ring when the day comes. One thing I know for sure is that the belt is not leaving us.
