*SEASON 1 ONOZASI's Journey*
*Episode 3: The Unsettling Dreams*
As Onozasi, aka Mariam, grew older, she began to have strange, unsettling dreams. In her dreams, she saw shadowy figures lurking in the darkness, their eyes glowing like embers. She saw herself walking through a dense, misty forest, with an unseen force guiding her deeper into the woods.
Whenever she woke up from these dreams, she'd feel a chill run down her spine. At age 6, her life took a turn when she went to live with her elder sister. But things weren't easy there, and her sister's harshness made her feel unwelcome.
At 9, Onozasi returned to Ibadan to live with Aiku, her dad, and her stepmom. Her biological mom had separated from her dad, and she was forced to stay with her dad. The tension in the house was palpable, and Onozasi often felt like she was walking on eggshells.
Life with her stepmom wasn't easy, though. The constant comparisons and unfair treatment made Onozasi feel like she didn't belong. Tragedy struck at age 12 when her brother went missing, leaving the family in shambles. The search for her brother was futile, and the uncertainty of his whereabouts haunted Onozasi. Her dad's health began to decline, and he eventually passed away due to UTI complications. The loss was devastating, and Onozasi's mom aged overnight, her eyes losing their sparkle.
With no one to care for her, Onozasi made a tough decision at age 13 - she left to work as a house girl in Kaduna, hoping for a better life. But the family she worked for wasn't too kind either... They were strict and demanding, pushing her t
o her limits.
The dreams persisted, and Onozasi couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being pulled toward something unknown. The small black stone she was born with had gone missing, and she often wondered if it was connected to the strange occurrences in her life.
