CBN Governor Engages Fintech Leaders on the Future of Innovation in Nigeria
On the sidelines of the 2025 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington, D.C., the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, held a strategic session with Nigerian CEOs of fintech companies on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Themed “Shaping the Future of Fintech in Nigeria: Innovation, Inclusion, and Integrity,” the closed-door forum brought together fintech founders, investors, regulators, and policy leaders to deepen collaboration and co-create policies that balance innovation with financial stability.
Governor Cardoso reaffirmed the Bank’s pro-innovation stance, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and feedback in developing effective policies for the financial and fintech ecosystem.

The session concluded with a shared commitment to continuous engagement between the CBN and fintech stakeholders to align regulatory reforms with Nigeria’s broader financial innovation agenda.
