Girl child need attention and consideration. Their education is very vital

For many adolescent girls, inadequate sanitation affects everyday life.

Without safe and reliable services, education, work and social activities can be disrupted — with long-term impacts on opportunities and well-being.

The 2026 United Nations , coordinated by UNESCO on behalf of UN-Water, explores how improving access to water and sanitation supports more equitable futures.

40% of children in northern Nigeria are out of school. The percentage is too high

Millions of children are still left behind in education.

In 2024, 273 million children and young people were out of school worldwide. This means that 1 in 6 school-age children are out of school.

Access to education expanded significantly between 2000 and 2015. But progress has slowed in recent years as education systems face population growth, crises and tightening education budgets.

Closing this gap remains one of the most urgent challenges for education systems worldwide.

UNESCO’s GEM Report Unesco is the world’s leading reference on the state of education, guiding policies and tracking progress towards quality learning for all. By bringing together governments, partners and civil society around evidence-based solutions, UNESCO helps shape the global education agenda and keep education a top priority.

Invest in Your Teachers, Invest in Your Students

The quality of education in any institution is directly tied to the quality of its teachers. When teachers are empowered with the right skills, knowledge, and continuous professional development, they become more effective, confident, and innovative in the classroom.

Investing in teachers goes beyond salaries—it includes training, mentorship, modern teaching tools, and supportive work environments. A well-trained teacher inspires curiosity, nurtures critical thinking, and creates a positive learning atmosphere where students can thrive.

Students are the ultimate beneficiaries of this investment. When teachers are equipped and motivated, students receive better guidance, improved instruction, and a more engaging educational experience. This leads to higher academic performance, stronger character development, and better preparation for the future.

Educational institutions, policymakers, and stakeholders must recognize that sustainable success in education starts with teachers. By prioritizing teacher development, we are not only strengthening the education system but also shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

When you invest in your teachers, you are truly investing in your students—and in the future.
