“Men are scared of already-built women, so be careful how much you become until you marry.”
Who told you that?
Honestly, I have heard women say things like this so many times.
“Let me not go too far.”
“Let me not become too independent.”
“Let me wait until I marry.”
Hmmmm…
I remembered when I was about to study Law.
My mum actually told me,
“Men are scared of lawyers. Go and read another course.”
😂
I smiled.
But wait,
Years later, I understand what she was trying to say.
Some men may be intimidated by certain women.
Some may ask,
“Can I control this woman?”
Some may look at a woman who is rising and feel threatened.
And yes,
some people may walk away because your growth makes them uncomfortable.
But should that make you stop?
No.
Because I have also seen the other side.
Someone saw the treasure.
And instead of running from it
he recognised it.
Today, the same things some people warned you about can become the things people admire.
The degree they said would make you “too much.”
The business they said would make you “too independent.”
The confidence they said would make you “difficult.”
The success they said would scare men.
Today?
People are clapping.
So please,
don't shrink yourself to become easier to marry.
Rise.
Learn.
Build.
Become.
And let the person who is meant to walk beside you meet the woman you have become.
Because who told you men don't like better things?
Who told you every man wants a woman he can control?
And who told you,
you should stop becoming until somebody chooses you?
