Top 15 Lesson learned from book - The Power Of Now

1 )Life is Always Just Present Moments
The main way to reframe your thinking in relation to this book is to consider life as a sequence of present moments. Rather than a story with a past, present, and future, this book suggests that all life ever is and will ever be is present moments one after another. This highlights the importance of making the most of the present-day rather than stressing about the past or future.

#2 Pain is Resisting Things you Can’t Change

Tolle makes an argument that is very similar to Stoicism as a philosophy, stating that the only pain we experience comes from resisting the things we can’t change. In a nutshell, we feel regret or fear about circumstances or experiences in our lives that we can’t change. This pain is unnecessary, and we should stop worrying about things we can’t effect for greater happiness.

#3 Free Yourself by Observation
One of the key ways in which you can get rid of the pain of anxiety and stress about the past or future is to observe your own thoughts without judging them. Simply being aware of what your mind is focusing on without constantly berating yourself for wasting time is usually enough to stop your anxiety or fear in its tracks. Simply notice whatever thought is giving you trouble, accept it, and move on.

#4 Full Attention to the Now
No matter where you are and what you’re doing, you should always strive to provide your full attention to the present moment. This requires accepting whatever is happening, as you can’t resist what is happening to you at the same time as fully experiencing it. This will make every experience richer and help you avoid anxiety and pain.

#5 Don’t Let the Mind Wander
While it’s important that you accept all the thoughts you experience, that doesn’t mean you should let your brain wander without paying attention to the present moment. This will take practice, but Tolle stresses the importance of training yourself to refocus your mind on what is in front of you in the present moment.

#6 Acceptance is Not Defeat
Many think that talking so much about accepting your thoughts or your circumstances is the same thing as allowing defeat to rule your life. This is not the same thing. Accepting your circumstances means you can stop focusing on the pain that whatever negative thing in your life is causing you and begin to change it or act upon it.

#7 Focus on Positive Things
As you train your mind to focus on the present, you should simultaneously practice focusing on positive things in the present day rather than ruminating on negative things. This will eventually result in a happy feedback loop that causes your brain to feel encouraged when focusing on the present, as you will eventually expect good things rather than fearing bad ones.

#8 Avoid Complaining
Tolle makes it clear that complaining is an essentially negative behavior that does no good to anyone. It’s also a huge roadblock when it comes to accepting the present moment. You should instead seek to adapt to your circumstances rather than lamenting the bad things in your life.

#9 The Past can Ruin the Future
Tolle explains that focusing excessively on the past can lead you to negative behaviors or terrible anxiety that ruins your future. You won’t experience moments as they come to their fullest extent. Or you may make choices that are primarily to protect your emotional fragility rather than choices that are to your benefit.

#10 You Are Not Your Mind
The book’s spiritual core shines through with this concept, which states that, as a person, you are a being of pure consciousness, love, and joy. You aren’t your brain and all of the fear that comes with the organ within your skull. Becoming enlightened requires that you first recognize your pure consciousness, which is necessarily free from your body.

#11 The Ego is Tied to the Mind
The ego is best thought of as the mind’s representation of itself, rather than your actual self-respect or your true representation. This is easily seen when you consider how you would describe yourself to a stranger. Chances are, most of your descriptions are related to external sources. Therefore, your ego is not your true self, as your true self is independent of any external source of validation.

#12 All Spiritual Teachings Are Similar
Tolle contends that all spiritual teachings come from the same primary source, which means that there has only ever been one spiritual master that has taken different forms across the centuries. This explains religion and any other types of spirituality that have helped humans deal with the inherent madness of their minds throughout history.

#13 Enlightenment Means Being Above the Mind
Tolle states that true enlightenment requires freeing yourself from the thoughts that echoed throughout your mind and body. He claims that this is why drugs and other mind-altering experiences like s*x are so important to the human experience; they allow humans to momentarily leave their mind behind and exist on a deeper level.

#14 Enlightenment Means Openness
Once you’ve attained true spiritual enlightenment, you’ll be entirely open to love and will accept your partner without any conditions. This ideal state is one that all should strive for, as it is the ultimate path to long-term human happiness.

#15 Enlightenment Becomes Calmness/Joy
The ultimate attainment of enlightenment is necessary for true happiness because it is the only way you can experience legitimate calmness or happiness. By focusing on the present and learning to accept and dismiss your thoughts, you’ll escape the confines of your mind and biological body and experience yourself as true, unfiltered consciousness.

The beautiful, well-versed 83 year old lady, fully dressed every morning at 8 am sharp, with her hair done in fashion and perfectly applied makeup, is moving to a retirement home. Her husband recently died, which motivated her move.
After many hours of patiently waiting in the hall of the home, she smiled sweetly, when told her room was ready.

As she moved her walker toward the elevator, she was given a detailed description of her small room, including the curtains hanging from her window.
“I love it,” she said, with the enthusiasm of a 8-year-old girl who was just handed over a new pet.
“Mrs. Jones; you haven't seen the room, just wait.”
“That doesn't matter,” she replied. “Happiness is something you decide over time. Whether or not I like my room doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged, it depends on how I arrange my mind.

I’ve already decided that I like it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have the choice; I can spend the day in bed, going through the difficulty I have with my body parts that don't work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the parts that do work.

Every day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I will focus on the new day and the happy memories I've stored just for this time in my life.

HAPPINESS is like a bank account: you withdraw from it, what you deposit.

So my advice would be to deposit a lot of happiness into your memory account.
Remember these five simple things:
1.- Free your heart from hate/discord.
2.- Free your mind from worries.
3.- Live Simply.
4.- Give more.
5.- Take less.

How OLIVER DE COQUE's most kept secret took him to an early grave as told by his son.
(April 14, 1947 - June 20, 2008. Age: 61)

HIS NAME, HIS MUSIC & HIS LIFESTYLE

Chief Dr. Oliver Sunday Akanite popularly known as Oliver De Coque was a Nigerian highlife musician and guitarist who has more than 50 albums to his credit and whose career lasted over 4 decades, making him one of the most popular highlife kings in Africa. Oliver and his music band group, 'Ogene Sound Super of Africa' blended modern highlife and traditional Igbo music.
The music star had 12 kids; 7 boys and 5 girls and they all enjoyed their father's presence. "It was awesome. My siblings and I didn't see him as a famous person. He was a normal, caring, jovial and loving dad to us," Darlington Akanite, one of his sons disclosed.
While growing up, Oliver was popularly called, 'The Game Master' because he was good at the game of Draft. Draft in Igbo language is 'Okwe.' So, People began to call him 'Oliver Di ka Okwe.' He then changed the name to sound more like a French name; that was how he came up with, 'Oliver De Coque.'

HIS SIGNATURE LOOK

He loved to buy clothes and spent a lot of money maintaining his looks. Infact, he spent #30,000 on his beard weekly and that amounted to #120,000 monthly. He visited his Salon twice a week and always said his beard was his Signature look. He said that if someone decided to keep a beard, it was right to maintain it.

HIS SICKNESS & HOW HE DIED

He fell ill at the end of 2007. He was diabetic and hypertensive. Most artistes don't like to disclose their health challenge and his son is of the opinion that if Oliver had told people about his health challenge, he would have gotten help quickly. "He was ill for three months. He then recovered in February 2008 and began to go for shows. He died on June 20 but he had planned to travel to the U.S on July 2 for checkup," Darlington added. He went further to tell the press that it was as if his father knew he was going to die because on the day he died, he decided to stay indoors. "And he told me to stay by his side." "That morning after he had his brekfast, he began to feel ill and cancelled his appointments for the day. I didn't know it was a serious matter; all I could do was to console him. I went to the bathroom to take a shower and then told him that I wanted to visit a few friends but he begged me not to leave his side and I became upset. I thought he was just depriving me of having fun. I grudgingly stayed back."
While Darlington stayed with him, he began to tell him how he started his career. As he was telling the story, he complained of not breathing well. Oliver then decided that he should be taken to the hospital. On their way to the hospital, he told the driver to increase the air-condition that he was feeling hot. His son became scared when he started to shout, "Wheelbarrow! Wheelbarrow! Darlington, please bring a Wheelbarrow." It was after his death, Darlington who wondered what was happening realised that the highlife maestro was referring to a WheelChair not actually a Wheelbarrow.
"I think he was becoming paralysed and unconscious. He was rushed to the emergency ward when we got to the hospital. And throughout his time in the hospital, he kept begging me to save him but there was nothing I could have done," the Son said.
He held Darlington's hand close to his side as he took his last breathe. His son closed his eyes and kissed him on the forehead. "I was so confused about all that happened."

LESSON

His son believes that more than 200 Igbo people would have laid their lives down for him if he had made his health condition public.
He's gone leaving behind a vacuum but he's taught the entire family a lesson that whenever one is facing a challenge, one shouldn't keep quiet about it. "I want people to learn from his death."

HEALTH NEWS

Your sharp vision is in your hands
30.09.2022

I was about to go blind. 93-year-old Eniola Abagun told about how she managed to avoid eye surgery.

Eniola Abagun was not expecting a large number of guests for her 93rd birthday. She had been living alone for years. Her only daughter died 16 years ago. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren live far away.

At the age of 93, Eniola feels young. A couple of years ago, her eyesight improved, even though she had had eyesight problems for 45 years. How did she do it? She shared her secret with our reporter.
“For the last few years, I have been able to see well again and work in the garden again. I grow and sell my vegetables, chickens and so on.
Correspondent: Eniola, the main question is how do you maintain this joy, health and energy, even managing to do gardening at such a respectable age? What is your secret?
‍ I haven’t always been like this. I worked as a teacher most of my life. To put it lightly, it is a very stressful job, and you have to move a lot. When I was about 40, my eyesight began to worsen: at first, near and far objects looked blurry. Over the years, the situation worsened!
Doctors prescribed me eye drops. Now, I don't even remember which ones. They helped a little, but if I suddenly forgot to use them even once, everything was cloudy again.
At the same time, I kept working, although I felt like an old woman. And once they even drove me away from the school in an ambulance. During class, everything started to get so cloudy that I could barely see my hands when I spread my arms out. They injected me with something and put a bandage on my eyes. I stayed in hospital for a month. When the blindfold was removed, I could see again, but still it was rather blurry. Then, they discharged me and referred me to a doctor.
He added to the drops I had with new ones. If I remember rightly now, I took six different eye remedies every day. I spent a lot of time and money buying them. I went to the pharmacy like people go to the grocery store.
I had to use more and more medication as time went on. But in spite of all this medication, the problem did not disappear and, of course, it could not disappear. Upon reaching my 55th birthday, I was made to retire due to health reasons.
In fact, I was told my eyesight would never improve. They said it was impossible to change the situation. My problem progressed.

70% of people with blurry vision lose their sight TOTALLY within 5 years.
I probably would have died like that if it was not for one of my old acquaintances. His son was doctor at the Institute for Scientific Research on Ophthalmological Diseases in London. His name is Emeka. I asked him to operate on my eyes.‍

He talked me out of it. He said that 1 out of 10 people go blind forever after surgery. He explained that the eyesight worsens mainly because of crystallin protein breakdown. If you improve the crystallin protein level, your eyesight will be perfect at any age.‍

At that time, studies were being conducted in India and they had learned how to restore the crystallin protein. That is when Emeka suggested I undergo treatment.‍

The result was astonishing. In two weeks, my vision had completely recovered! You cannot even imagine what joy it was to see nature, animals and faces again! And, most importantly, I no longer needed to buy all those eye drops!
Correspondent: Could you tell me exactly how you restored your crystallin protein?‍

In fact, it is easier to do nowadays. In those days, it was necessary to ask for special herbs from different countries in order to make tinctures out of them. Now, you don't need to do anything, and the process itself only takes two weeks!
There is an excellent product called iFocus . It is specifically designed to restore the crystallin protein. You just take this product twice a day and that's it.
This method that this long-lived Nigerian lady told us about really seems to be functional and effective. Was this really true? Before publishing this material and making it available to readers, we decided to ask a WHO field ophthalmologist, Professor John W. Grayson for his opinion.*

John W. Grayson is the leading expert ophthalmologist at the World Health Organisation, fighting against blindness around the world.
Correspondent: Dr Grayson, in your opinion, can the restoration of crystallin protein really prevent blindness?‍

Yes, absolutely, the patient's vision depends on the quality and quantity of the crystallin protein contained within the eye. Of course, Eniola Abagun described the entire process that occurs within the body rather basically, but in general, everything she said was accurate.‍ ‍
Correspondent: Could you talk about iFocus ? What is it?‍

- iFocus is a product that is exported to 18 countries around the world, including Nigeria. The product's distribution in our country is carried out by the Institute for Scientific Research on Ophthalmological Diseases. In other words, one of the main institutes in the world. As far as I know, the remedy was created based on products used by India's military in those times of unrest. It is true that scientists have redesigned the formula itself since current technologies are much more advanced than those in the 1950s/1960s. Consequently, the product is by far more effective now. Although even then it was considered extremely effective and capable of improving vision.‍

The main active ingredients of iFocus are lutein and zeaxanthin. These substances when taken together can pe*****te the eye and synthesise the crystallin protein. In fact, after that, the eye is rejuvenated.‍

We studied this remedy in our laboratories, it synthesises the necessary protein extremely well during 1-2 weeks of treatment. I want to show you the results of these studies. In total, 300 volunteers participated in the research.
The eye's crystallin protein was completely restored: in 96% of those investigated
Improved vision clarity: in 98% of those investigated
Blurred vision eliminated: in 97% of those investigated
Eye pressure has recovered to normal: in 88% of those investigated
In addition to lutein and zeaxanthin iFocus contains about 50 vitamins and macro and trace elements that are useful for the eye and its blood vessels. I'm not going to list them all, just a few.
Blueberry anthocyanins
Normalise the eye's pressure and the capillary circulation as well as strengthening the ocular muscles.
Vitamin A
Normalises the penetrability of small capillaries.
Linseed Oil
Eliminates dry eyes, contributes to the natural hydration of the mucosa.
Vitamin B
Strengthens the retina and slows the natural ageing process.
EPA and DHA fatty acids
Essential fatty acids improve oxygen saturation.
Potassium
Removes excess fluid from the body.
Sodium
Reduces eye puffiness.
Phosphorus
Increases the blood vessels' tone and generally stabilises the entire nervous system.
Also, iFocus has the following properties:
Relieves fatigue, dullness, itchy eyes.
Reduces ocular irritation.
Eliminates blurry vision.
Helps with computer vision syndrome (CVS) and its consequences (eliminates headaches and pain in the back and neck)

In other words, the product is rather complex. It is aimed at the comprehensive recovery of the ocular system after the age of 40.‍

Please note that it was concluded that now is the best time to start treating eye diseases. Due to the stabilisation of the average temperature, the metabolism speeds up, increases blood circulation in the body, increasing the blood flow and oxygen to the internal organs; this increases the product's effect. Treatment is 64% easier than at other times of the year.

Glaucoma and cataracts are contraindications for iFocus.

Comments:
Ola Abubakar
Thank you very much for this article! This is really important to me. Lately, I have been sitting in front of the computer and my vision worsened. I ordered iFocus .
Ajoke Musa
I agree with the doctor's opinion. The product is wonderful! Before I started using it, I had a vision of -2 in one eye and -3 in the other. Now I'm at -1 in both eyes, that is, I have recovered almost totally. Before that, nothing helped me as much as this remedy...
Adisa Maikori
I have ordered it. They promised to deliver it in a week (to Lagos). As soon as I get it I'll write up my opinion.
Bisi Fuwape
I recently saw a network broadcast about vision. They also mentioned iFocus . Many doctors recommended it.
Mosunro Bakare
I agree with all the comments. The product is really good. All our family takes it since almost all of us had bad eyesight. Each of us had notable improvements. My daughter's vision improved by 3 units after just 1 course, and even the doctor confirmed it. We are very satisfied with iFocus .
Eniola Ibekwe
I ordered it. In fact, when under offer it is quite cheap.
Tosin Abagun
iFocus is a well-known product. I've heard a lot about it. Even some acquaintances used it, and they praised it.
Adisa Maikori
So, as promised, I write about my impressions. They delivered iFocus on time, like they promised, a week later it was already at my house brought it to me. And now for the most interesting part: its effects. I've only been using it for a week, but I can see the results already. My vision is really improving. The day before yesterday, I even saw the bus number from afar. I am completely satisfied with this product. I keep taking it. I recommend it to all. It's at least worth a try.

Adewale Udoka
Thank you. I ordered iFocus on offer. I'm going to try it. My vision gets worse with every year that goes by. I am afraid to have surgery. My neighbour has done it. He has been suffering for two years. Everything is rotting and does not cure at all.
Mosunro Anjorin
Thank you!
Damilola Laouali
There is always a lot of money behind bad things... A friend had an operation on her eyes last year. Twice (she had to have a second one). The vision in one eye was greatly diminished. For me, I decided that I would regain my vision without surgery.
Darasimi Fuwape
Today, I received the package. Everything is fine. They delivered it to me quickly. It was very cheap. I have already started.
