Story time!

Earlier this year, we consulted for a business who’s owner complained about not being able to create graphics. She’s a fashion designer and needs to do a post showcasing a discount she was offering for a time period but she wasn’t able to do the graphics. We ended up doing the graphics as an add on to our service but it was really worrisome because we weren’t sure how many business owners out there would have wanted to post something but decided against it because of they couldn’t do the graphics.

This is why when reached out to partner on this initiative, it was an instant yes. They are providing access to skills for business owners and career people who would like to learn these skills (no more single income). The best part of this training is that it is FREE! Thank you .

Fear is a natural occurrence.

It’s not bad to be fearful but it’s bad to make fearful decisions. 🌚😂

Our Nigerian sisters! How have you been coping with staff demands during this period of the fuel price hike?

We spoke to a few people who said their staff are demanding for salary increment since the cost of transporting themselves to work has increased and we suggested three ways to handle this:

- actually give the salary increase. The reality is that it has become more expensive to go to work physically and if you need staff in the office, you’ll need to give them a salary that can afford them to transport themselves
- allow them work from home a couple of times per week. This could be monitored so that staff that underperform when they work from home could be investigated and an appropriate decision made about them.
- take up the cost of their transportation. You can work with a bus or shuttle company that can pick your staff from specific locations and drop them off so that they do not worry about transport costs.

If you’re an employee, you can suggest these three methods to your boss. Bosses feel better when there are options they can choose from and you’re most likely to get a solution out of them if they don’t feel coerced.
