So I have these two friends; John and Paul
We are not among the disciples. Lol😊
So they both are employed, and soon they realized they needed another source of income.
John started freelancing on Upwork.
He gets clients, provides service and get paid. He was happy.
On the other hand, Paul went into blogging.
In his free time, he researches topics, writes and publishes.
You may wonder who made the wrong choice.

In few months,
John was getting gigs. The workload was much.
When he was at work, his business was on hold.
When he gets back home, he was tired but had clients to satisfy before he got paid. He had no time.
His business became his master.
For Paul, his website picked up, he sold spaces for ads.
While he was at work his website was running. The money was small initially, but it was flowing with or without him.
In addition, he had the time to learn other skills like digital marketing and improve the income from his website.
Paul is a big boy now.
He is my real gee, though he is fictional. Lol.
Well, here is my point.
When it comes to passive income there are two types: linear income and residual income.
John's business is linear.
You have to do something to make money. You have to bake, sew... You get it.
As a normal business, this is fine but as a side hustle, it is only okay if you have the capability to employ someone.
While Paul's business is a residual source of income. A page he published last six months will keep bring visitors to his website.
They will click on ads or buy a product and he will get paid
Even when he sleeps or stops publishing, his website will keep making him money.
Examples of this income model are Youtubing, Amazon KDP, Creating and selling digital products on sites like Udemy, etc.
