Let me tell you something about June 12 that never gets old 🇳🇬

In 1993, Nigerians walked to the polls and did something extraordinary.

They voted not along tribal lines, not along religious lines but as one people with one voice. MKO Abiola won that election, widely, clearly and fairly.

Then it was taken from them.

The election was annulled. The people's choice was silenced.

But here is what they could never take the memory of what was possible when Nigerians chose unity over division.

Fast forward to 2019 President Buhari officially recognised June 12 as Nigeria's Democracy Day. A long overdue acknowledgement that the Nigerian people's will cannot be buried forever.

Most people think they don’t have clients because of visibility.

That’s not always true.

I’ve seen skilled experts stay stuck for months… not because they lack skill, but because they’re missing one thing they can’t see yet.

I call it signal awareness.

Because in real life, clients don’t just appear randomly…

They leave clues before they buy.

When you don’t know how to read those clues, you end up:

• Posting more but attracting no buyers

• Changing offers too often

• Thinking the market is slow

But the real problem is simpler:

You’re not seeing the signals that show who is ready to buy right now.

Your skill isn't saturated, you're invisible to your employers and target audience. Because I know you, you’re the one who: Designs like a pro. Writes copy that actually converts, builds systems that don’t break.

Delivers results clients should be paying premium for But somehow... Your bank account still looks like you’re figuring it out. And that part? You don’t say it out loud but it eats at you.

Because it feels unfair. How can I be this good... and still struggle to get consistent clients? Here’s the truth nobody wants to tell you:

Great work doesn’t create income, visibility does. If people can’t see you, they can’t pay you. And relying on:random referrals, unstable local gigs $5 platforms where talent is overcrowded ...isn’t a business model. It’s survival mode in disguise.

What you actually need is a simple system: A way to consistently show up in front of international clients Who already have budget and already value your skill not luck, not guessing but a clear system.

Your LinkedIn and Upwork profile is quietly costing you clients.
Here are 5 mistakes keeping you stuck at zero reviews.

1. You're writing a résumé, not a sales letter.
Your profile is your first interview and most freelancers are failing it before the client even finishes reading the headline.
Listing your degree, your tools, and your past job titles tells a client where you've been. It says nothing about what you can do for them.

2. You're talking about yourself, not their problem.
"I am a skilled social media manager with 3 years of experience" is not positioning it's noise. Clients are scanning your profile with one question in mind can this person solve my problem? If your opening line doesn't answer that immediately, they're gone.

3. You have no clear offer.
Vague profiles attract vague clients or none at all. The top 3% of earners on Upwork and LinkedIn don't leave people guessing. Their profile reads like a specific promise: this is who I help, this is the result I deliver, this is why you should choose me.

4. Your headline is doing zero selling.
"Virtual Assistant | Hardworking | Available for hire" is not a headline. It's a placeholder. Your headline is prime real estate. It should stop the right client mid-scroll.

5. You have no social proof anchoring trust.
No results, no numbers and no client wins. Nothing that makes a stranger think this person has done this before and delivered. Even one strong testimonial or quantified result changes everything.

Clients aren't hiring your past. They're buying your future your ability to solve a problem they have right now.
Your profile must speak directly to their pain and promise a clear, credible solution. Every word should earn its place.
